Wanted to pop in and say hi!

I really haven't posted much since last year on this board but I just wanted to say I miss talking to you ladies!!

I hope everyone has been doing well the last 8 months! I've read back an see that some of you are pregnant...congrats!! And that *someone* had her baby!!! Congrats chasemamabear!

DH and I have been TTC with no luck at all. I came off my bc in November and we've been trying ever since. It really sucks because all these people around me have such an easy time. There are like 3 girls at work pregnant..and one just had her baby! None of our family knows we are TTC...I just don't want them constantly asking if I'm pregnant yet. My mom knows I came off the bc but not that we're actively trying..she never asks. It took my sister like 6 years and fertility drugs to get pregnant. I kinda wish I could talk to her about it sometimes. DH was really nervous at first..he seriously thought we'd be pregnant the first time. That's what they teach in sexed...it only takes one time! It took him about 2 months to finally realize it wasn't exactly that easy.

Anyway..that's what we've been up to over the last 8 months! It's gone by sooo fast! We'll be celebrating 1 year before we know it!!

  • Welcome back!

IF it's been 8 months, maybe make an appt for the gyno and talk to them about things.  Are you temping?  Usually ovulation strips?  I know my friend was having issues and her doctor told her she shouldn't have waited a year to get seen.

  • Well hello there stranger!! It is nice to see you around here again. You should stop by more often. I wish you all the luck on TTC. I agree with Mana that you should probably go see your Dr to get a check up. Its better to do it now instead of waiting.

  • Thanks for popping in!!  Good luck TTC, hopefully you won't have to wait too long.
  • Welcome back!

Don't get frustrated by your TTC journey.  That only makes things more difficult.  If you have been trying for almost 8 months with no luck I definitely think you should see a doctor.  If anything, it will give you piece of mind to know everything is ok.

  • I actually saw my dr at the beginning of May. She honestly didn't seem too concerned with the time. I got the whole it can take a healthy couple a year etc. She also said normally after her patients come to her saying they've been trying then they wind up pregnant shortly after that..she was trying to make a joke. I have been charting temps and all that jazz..I took a couple months off from it though because we weren't getting anywhere and I just needed a break.

I talked to my sister last night and I almost said something to her but couldn't bring myself to do so. She lives so far away [8 hours] and it's just something I'd rather talk with her about in person, you know?

On another note it may be something to do with my thyroid. I just found out its enlarged and yesterday had an ultrasound that showed it has a nodule on it. My blood work came back fine but I may need to see an endocrinologist since I do have the nodule for more extensive testing. We'll see when I go for my follow up. I know your thyroid can have an affect on both ovulation which I seem to be doing fine and also implantation.

    So we'll see!!
