We have a family reunion with the in-laws waaaaaay up in northern Manitoba next summer and we were toying with the idea of renting an RV to make the 1000 mile one way trip a little easier on my terrible little car riders. Air travel is out of the question as tickets are $1350 a piece. We would split the cost of the RV with my SIL and BIL and also my MIL. So we would have 5 adults and 5 kids aged 12, 8, 4, 3, and 2. Does anyone know the regulations on car seats in RVs? I can't find any definite info online. Is it even possible with that many kids?

Re: RV renting and carseats?
How many children are in seats?
My guess is it's not going to be possible. Any car seat would need to be on a forward-facing seat (not side or rear-facing seats). RVs also present a lot of issues with projectiles (things in cabinets, etc.) so you have to keep that in mind as well when transporting so many children in an RV.
I'm not even sure 10 people could legally ride in an RV together? Even some of the bigger RVs I've been in don't have enough seating for 10?
