Booking a trip to Las Vegas..too early?

I am looking to book a trip to LV the last week in Sept or the first week in Oct.  Prices are pretty good right now (about 80-100 more than last year)  I'm debating on if I should book now and get a good price or take the chance of waiting and hope it goes down closer to summer.  We usually go once a year around the same time, I just can't remember when we usualy book.  Would you wait a little while longer or just do it now?

  • Are you talking aboout the flight or the hotel?

Yo Ass don't git a medal fo' marryin yo' prom date. Unless yo ass is imoan. I aint talkin' bout chicken n' gravy biatch. Then yo ass git a all-expenses paid cruise ta tha Mediterranean n' yo ass git ta hook up Jared Padalecki on tha flight over while bustin yo' jammies. But still no medal.
  • Both really.  I can get a package deal through Southwest Vacations, which is what I normally do.  I can also just get airfare from Southwest & the hotel from AAA, which saves about $30 from the package deal.  Either way it's about the same price.  I am just wondering if airfare will go down more towards summer.

Doesn't southwest do full refunds? As long as you think you'll fly them again at some point, I'd book and just watch prices.

Also, unless you're getting a super awesome deal by paying in full ahead of time you should be able to cancel your hotel up to 3 days before your stay (or something similar) with no penalty. So basically if you're worried about prices going up there's no risk of booking now other than the hassle of canceling and rebooking if prices go down.

  • If the price is descent now, I would go ahead and book it.  We are looking to go out there in the middle of October, and it's costing double what it did last year. So we're waiting it out until closer to the date in hopes that the prices will go down.  If it was similar or close to last years price, then we would book it.

  • if it's a good price then, imo, book now. if it goes down ask for a price adjustment.

  • The sooner the better! Airline prices usually only go up and you may not get the flight time that you wanted.
