GOT thread- Spoilers!

Who watches game of thrones? I'm kinda dying to talk about it. Let's keep spoilers to the show or things that have happened in the books. I haven't read the books and I don't want to know future things!

Re: GOT thread- Spoilers!

  • ooh ooh ooh me me me!

What did you think of the red wedding? I'm a horrible person because I teared up when Grey Wind got it, but didn't bat an eyelash when Talisa, Robb and Cat were off'd.

I'm excited to see Bran's future warging.

I wonder if we'll ever see Rickon and Osha again.

and (I think????) some shiit's about to go down at Castle Black!!! Maybe for the finale next week? (I think next week is it, right?)

  • Yes! The finale is next week :( I thought the red wedding was really well done! It was shocking and sad, but I kinda loved it and can't stop thinking about it. One of the most upsetting things to me was how they killed Talisa. I expected Robb to die in this season or next season, but I was still sad. He's really grown on me because Jon Snow has started to annoy me. What did you think about him leaving Ygritte? (Not that I like her)
  • Also, I'm a mess whenever animals die in shows/movies. They always make me the most sad.

This was me too.  I can't wait to see what happens in the finale!!

  • I'm glad I'm not alone in having a hard time watching the animals die/be killed. I just have to tell myself they are CGI direwolves and horses (Umm, Joffrey's nameday tourney in season 1??) and they aren't real.

I did like Ygritte and Jon, but I think it's just because I think Kit Harrington is a hottie, and just pop myself in Ygritte's spot and boom, spank bank. Wink But their story line-- You knew it was going to come to an end. Jon was sent undercover to see what the wildings were up to, and since his job is done and he did what he needed to do, he had to go report back. (I imagine he's going back to castle black, since that's where the whole wilding gang was headed anyway.)

Re: Talisa -- yeah that was brutal. Robb's queen wasn't even AT the red wedding in the book, so that's all new stuff. Poor Starks. That's what happens when you make the wrong moves in the game, though.

What do you think about Arya? I love her. I truly hope Sansa starts to show some of her sister's wit in the upcoming seasons. I just want to shake her sometimes...  I was definitely sad that I didn't see any Tyrion in the last episode!

  • That horse in first season was AWFUL! I agree that Kit Harrington is a hottie! Ygritte was so annoying. I'm sure we haven't seen the last of her though.

Arya is growing on me. She didn't start out as one if my favorites, but her story is really interesting. I really didn't like Tyrion at first, but now I loooove him. I definitely miss him when he isn't in the show.

I guess the Daenerys storyline is pretty different, but I like it. I was pretty excited to find out that the actress who plays her is named Emilia, just like my Emilia!

  • I really like Dany--she won me over when she learned Dothraki and made Drogo see her as his Queen instead of as his property. Oh, and when she ate the stallion heart. That was pretty B.A. Aaaaand she has DRAGONS!!!

Emilia is a very pretty name, too :)

Is there anything you want to see happen in future seasons?

  • I read the book but haven't been watching the series.  I guess I need to! Everything has lit up with comments about the red wedding.  I do remember being in a rage when I read it.

AND I agree when something happens to the direwolves I lose my mind!

The one thing my friend who got me into this book told me is that "everybody dies".  So I read it with that in mind and felt myself harden a bit lol.  Great series though!!

I've loved them both since the beginning! Tyrion has the best freaking lines, and Arya is just this little firecracker who is going to do what she wants and doesn't care that she's a girl and shouldn't be doing certain things!

Dany is badass, and I cannot wait for her and her massive army and her dragons to sail across the sea and eff everything up. She's really come into her own, and it's been exciting to see her develop into this strong woman.

I need something vile to happen to that sniveling little punk, Joffrey.

I can't wait for the finale, but I have a feeling that there's going to be a huge freaking cliffhanger ending that is going to drive me insane!

  • No Longer the Best, I was reading the red wedding part in the bedroom and H was in the other room. I literally SCREAMED/YELLED in the bedroom and he comes rushing in and is like OMG what's wrong with you?? and I'm like ROBB!! GREY WIND!! CATLYNN!!! And then that chapter ends with the hound clocking Arya in the head (just like in the show, so I hope that's not off limits as far as book stuff goes.) and it just ends. So I flip out again and I'm like NOOO, NOT ARYA TOO!!!

And Lizzie--I agree Joffrey needs to go......... :smirk::

And they almost have to end the season on a cliff hanger. Don't all shows do that to annoy us? Wink Any guesses as to what it would be? I really think The Rains of Castermere should have been the season finale. I'm curious to see how they can top last week's episode with the finale. You know who I haven't seen in a while? Petyr Baelish. Where's he at? Did he leave King's Landing?

Baelish was trying to convince Sansa to leave with him, but she decided to stay in hopes of marrying Sir Prettyboy. If I remember correctly, he was leaving to marry Catelyn's sister, and left before Sansa married Tyrion.

I have no idea what the finale will hold, but it seems as if Tyrion might finally have had enough of the Lanister nonesense, so I hope he takes Sansa and Shae and gets far away from King's Landing.

Also, not that I like him much, but I kinda feel a smidge bit bad for Greyjoy.

  • Eeeeenteresting.

The last scene with Sansa crying out by the harbor, I didn't know if Baelish's boat was docked or if it was actually sailing away. Hmmm.

I'm thinking they should make the impending epic battle at Castle Black between the wildings and the night's watch the finale. I don't know if they'll be able to pull it off Blackwater style like last season. That was legendary.

Also, I totes feel bad for Theon. Sure, I wish he hadn't turned on the folks at Winterfell and betrayed Robb, but at least he didn't kill Bran and Rickon. Flaying sucks. I don't know if there's anyone who deserves to be flayed.
