**Healthy Living Ladies**

I need your help! I need to be held accountable more than ever now.

At my doctors appointment yesterday, I was informed that I'm overweight (duh, I know, but the weird thing is, I'm only a size 12!) and they want me to do an early test for diabetes (which effing sucks)

I honestly don't really understand...yes I've gained some weight recently and I'm not happy with how my body looks right now, but I had no idea that they'd be this concerned with my weight.

I'm hoping that they're just being overly cautious with me, but it kind of freaked me out.

They also want me to see a nutritionist and I have an appointment on the 18th.

So I'm obviously going to keep up with the Check Ins twice per week, but I'm wondering if there's any way to make them better/more effective so that people feel like they're getting something out of the check ins. So any advice to improve them, or changes you think I should make, please let me know!!

Re: **Healthy Living Ladies**

  • Yikes...if you are overweight then I must be dangerously obese!

I guess its a good thing that your seeing a nutritionist to know what is right and not right with your pregnancy. You going to have to have different issues to contend with now...what you can and cant do etc

I am trying to lose weight so I can be healthy with TTC. I already have a heart condition that the doctor is not happy with my weight so adding a baby is not going to be the best thing either...so I will be right there supporting you!

    We can do it! :)

  • Yikes! I agree with Melissa, I don't want to know what your doctor would have to say about me if he's worried about you!!

Hopefully you're right and they're just being careful. And seeing a nutrtitionist could be a good thing! Especially with everything you're not supposed to eat/drink/look at funny while pregnant.

I like the posts, but I have to agree I need a little extra umph as I have not been good lately!

  • Would you ladies be interested in some sort of exercise challenge? Like a push up, walking, arm exercise, ab (although I can't do that one) or even like a food challenge where you have to eat X, Y or Z (for example, one of three veggies)food with every meal?

  • I'm sorry that you have to get tested early Sad.  I know anything I was doing before pretty much went out the window during the first tri because of food aversions and nausea.

I had a plan I wanted to follow, but I didn't.  Luckily I did not gain any weight until I hit second tri.  Then I felt like I gained 5lbs overnight which I am not happy with.

This is the plan I want to follow (I have lists of what is in each category).  It's hard though.

4 servings a day- Green Leafy, Yellow Vegetables/Fruit

    1-2 servings a day- Other Vegetables/Fruit

    3 servings a day- Protein

    3 servings a day- Vitamin C

    4 servings a day- Calcium

6 servings a day- Whole grains

I think you have just motivated me to try again!  If you ate solely those foods you would cut out a lot of processed not good for you foods.

I really have no idea how to feel more accountable.  My doctor gave me a check list that you put on your fridge to check as you eat things from those categories.  I think that as well as a lot of pre-planning your days food would help!

  • I would be up for a challenge...also I agree that pre planning has helped me so much stay on track (im not losing anything though) Its a pain, but having my gym clothes ready and my meals planned out help me so much!
