  • I wanted to be a Psychiatrist.  When I was much younger, I wanted to be a Veterinarian, but then I found out I'd have to put animals to sleep, so I quickly changed my mind.

  • When I was really little, I wanted to be a ballerina. My lack of coordination quickly made sure that wasn't a reality.

When I was in middle school and high school, I wanted to be a teacher or FBI agent.

I only know this because we wrote ourselves letters in 7th grade, and our teacher sent them back to us 10 yrs later...I told my self that by 23 i should be a teacher(check, at 22) , marine biologist (check at 21), married (glad i waited until 27), and having a baby (very ambitious...still putting the last one off for a few more months. haha)

Later I wanted to be a school teacher, but I have no patience for that at all!

  • I wanted to be a pediatrician and an artist. I was going to hang my art in my office!  I'm not artsy at all so that never worked out. I eventually, in high school, realized I wanted more individual patient interaction than doctors get so I got my bachelors in nursing and now I'm a NICU nurse!
  • I wanted to be a famous pop star or some kind of scientist.  I'm a terrible singer!  Also Science was probably one of my worst subjects in school.

  • I used to play School a lot with my brothers but I;m not sure if I wanted that as a job as a kid.  I know I wanted to work in an office because that's what my dad did.  I never knew what his actual job was until I was much older, but I knew he wore a suit and carried a briefcase everyday.  (he was a customs broker)

  • When I was a kid, I used to watch Get Smart reruns on Nick at Nite...so I wanted to be a spy!

My mother also told me that when I was really little, I used to say that I wanted to be a fruit farmer and live in a purple house LOL!

  • I wanted to be a pediatrician for a long time. I don't think I would have had the patience for med school.

  • when I was really little I wanted to be 'horse buyer and seller' which I guess would be like a horse trader?  Hahaha, I grew up with horses and we knew people who actually did that for a living.  like "flipping horses" instead of houses, lol.  then I wanted to be a vet, but like one of  the previous posters, when I found out you would have to put animals down, I changed my mind (I don't even really like animals now, ha!)

When I was maybe 15 I wanted to be a marriage counselor.

When I was 18 I thought I wanted to work in a museum and give tours because I'm such a history nerd.  Sometimes I still think that's what I want to do :p I was a history major for all of 2 weeks before I realized there's only so many museum jobs available there's not much else that I'd want to do with a history degree.

I ended up getting my undergrad degree in integrated marketing communication.  Getting my masters is corporate communication.  I want to do event planning and fundraising for non profits.

  • I wanted to be a cosmetic surgeon until I realized the only class I enjoyed in college was anatomy and I couldn't see myself spending 4 years studying biology and chemistry in college. Instead I majored in computer science and enjoy what I do.

  • I always wanted to be a veterinarian or a vet assistant, but I had a lot of trouble with seeing blood when I was younger (sometimes caused me to pass out, mostly with my blood) and I didn't want to take a chance that I would have issues with my profession. Also, like a pp said, I would have had trouble putting the animals down.

  • I've always wanted to be a teacher.  I don't remember ever wanting to be anything else.
