Re: Tony Awards
I watched, but skipped some sections.
The opening number was amazing. I would be happy to spend the rest of my life just watching the opening number.
I also loved the song with Megan Hilty, Andrew Rannells, and Laura Benanti about being on television. It was hilarious and slightly sad because I watched both Smash and the New Normal.
I didn't think the nominee pool was that deep this year, but the performances made me want to see Matilda and Pippin even more than I already did.
Ditto most of what LandDo said. I have NO interest in seeing a Christmas Story. I like it on TV, where it belongs.
Cyndi Lauper!!!!!
I'm going to watch the opening number again. kbye.
I second or third everything y'all said. No one should ever watch the Tony's with John and I ever it's so weird. I'm hoping next year will be the year we get to go.
So dresses, I thought Cecily Tyson's was a work of art, but perhaps a little too over worked. I need to see it in person. I did not like what Scarlett Johansson wore, it was a little too informal for my taste. NPH looked fabulous in my high school colors. For giggles I was looking at gowns on the Nieman Marcus website while watching and saw several gowns there.
There were no shows that I saw that I "have" to see. Pippin is good and I like where they've taken it. The Phantom with the electric guitar drove me batty.
