Hey ladies!
Quick question: how many of you have had your rings re-dipped if they are white gold and how often do you have it done? After wearing my engagement ring for nearly 2 years, I've noticed some fading. Do you do your engagement and your wedding ring at the same time?
Thanks for your help!
Re: White Gold Wedding Rings
Since I got engaged in Dec 2010 and wasn't married until almost 2 years later i got my e-ring re-dipped a week or two before the wedding so it was all shiny.
I havent done my wedding band yet and since i haven't been wearing them for the last month i havent even thought about it, i would probably do both at the same time, my jeweler does it right then and there, no sending anything out! Idk how often it should be done, im not help with that!
My rings are platinum for this reason. I turn white gold back to yellow very quickly too. I also think that I'm slightly allergic to white gold as well. Platinum is more durable, never fades, is more pure (~95% pure) so it's hypoallergenic, and if you do scratch it, it scratches white so it's not as noticeable. When we bought our rings, the price of gold was so high that gold and platinum prices were about equal.
