Ordering fried chicken

For Father's Day, we've agreed to host both of our families, but we have a packed weekend and I have no time to prepare food. So, we're thinking of just ordering fried chicken, but I feel like we'll need to order it ahead (it'll be 15-18 people).

Can you get that amount just by stopping into KFC, or is that something you'd want to call ahead for? Has anyone had Walmart's chicken? It always smells decent, but I've never tried it!

Re: Ordering fried chicken

  • WalMart chicken is the bomb-diggity! (As far as fried chicken goes).  It's very inexpensive, and it really is good.  You do need to order it in advance.   I would pick WalMart chicken over KFC hands down.

  • We've had the Walmart chicken at many parties and always good. Not sure how many kids you might have but they also have a great platter that has the chicken strips, BBQ bites and those little chicken ball/bites that is always a hit. They give you all kinds of sauces to dip them in too. When we use to have our pig roast we always ordered one mainly for the kids but everyone liked them. Yum! They have a small and large platter options.

That chicken always does smell good doesn't it??!

Yes, I would love a plattter like that (I don't actually like chicken on the bone, and neither does my sister). I need to call them today, hopefully it's not too late!

  • Another vote for Wal-Mart chicken. If you need another option, Giant Eagle's is also really good.

Giant Eagle also does a non-fried chicken tray.  I think it's rotisserie pieces.
