Yes, you are - but I understand why.

We had 3 dogs for 4 years. Unfortunately, we lost our big guy in December.  It wasn't easy, but they make life fun.  ;)

Still - I don't think I'd ever have more than 1 at a time again.  It makes life too hard when you want to think about going away for the day or the weekend, when you have 3 trips to the vet, etc.

That can backfire too... mine are both annoying, but in incompatible ways. Bella loves to play. Mo just wants petted all the damn time. He will play with bella in 15 second bursts. About once a day. so now we have two needy pups rather than one.  I love having two. But  don't count on them being more independent and more calm.... hahahaha.

  • I totally understand. I really want to get another dog. BUT I have also been in Amanda's situation. Mopar merely tolerated Murphy for 11 years. They never played together or were buddies. When we got Bruce, he in Murphy got along really well and again Mopar was tolerant.

Since we lost Murphy last week, Bruce has been seriously depressed. I even stopped at the Humane Society on Wednesday. But it is a hard thing to match up personalities and it is a total crap shoot. I will never have 3 dogs again.

If we were to get another dog  or 2, I'd like to be a scenario where we could do a trial run. :-)

that is kinda what we  did when we got Bruce but I knew I couldn't regime him again, it wouldn't have been fair to him. He is a super sensitive animal. So I now have had a giant, slobbery beast for almost 3 years
