Weddingness

This week has been my mountain wedding week. Today's wedding was so amazing! It had a lot of history to it! It was at Chateau Gates, which I was not familiar with until today. The great great grandson of Charles Gates Sr was getting married today. In 1918 Gates bought a rubber and leather company for $3500. Later renamed Gates rubber. They created some of the first belts for cars. The house was immaculate. Everything was original and a few rooms preserved, but custom made vintage antiques from all over the world filled the house. Today approx 70 direct descendants are living. After a little research the rubber company was sold in 1996 for 1.1 billon dollars. I love my job and all the history lessons that go with it.
