Kids and boo boos and loss of pigment

I'm calling the pedi next week but I was just wonder if anyone had any experience with this.  My youngest had some dry skin on her side over the winter.  It was nothing serious but now she has no pigment where the spots were.  She also scraped her knee about 2 months ago.  Again, nothing serious.  The scrape healed but now there is no pigment on her knee.  It's not like a scar.  The skin feels just like the surrounding skin, there's just no pigment on the whole knee area.

I know it's cosmetic.  I just worry that she's only 2 and every time she gets a cut, dry skin, or whatever she's going to have a permanent spot.   I lotion and sunscreen.  Anybody have experience with something like this?

Re: Kids and boo boos and loss of pigment

  • Eleni had super splotchy skin while she was having worse eczema - I just figured where the rash was being treated, with the steroid creams, was just turning over more- more new skin was on the outside from scratching/etc. But the skin which was not was tan from the sun exposure.  It has all evened out.
