Application question

I'm looking at three different admin positions at John's new school. All in different departments. They are all part time so I could continue them next year when I go back to school. So my question, all the apps are done electronically and all request a cover letter. Do I write a separate cover letter for each position? It's the same position with the same job description, requirements, etc.

Re: Application question

  • I would probably use the same letter, unless there are special skills that you could highlight that relate to the specific departments (i.e. playing up skills/experience in budgeting/accounts for a position in the finance department).
  • I would also think that all apps come through the same HR office, so I'd write one letter. You may want to mention that you have an interest in a few positions and the aspects of each that captured your interest.
  • I think that's what I'll do, I figured it was the same person reading them all.

Should I put the local to them address? It's not valid for us yet, but I don't want them to think I plan on commuting either.

I'd address the relocation in your cover letter.
