How's everyone doing?
Last week, I only ran on Tuesday night after the 5K on Sunday, and I scaled back to about 2.3 miles (I just set the timer for 25 minutes & ran) I wasn't feeling all that great the remainder of the week, so I was a bum.
Brian is insane and signed up to do the Tough Mudder in August, so while we were at my parents house yesterday, we went out together. It's SO much better to run with someone, it's really too bad we don't get a chance to do it more often. Anyway, again I just set the timer on my phone for 25 minutes and we went 2.55 miles in that time. (clearly my pace is better when I run with someone who is much faster than me!)
I hope to make it out another 2 times this week, and I still need to look at our calendar & decide which 5K I want to sign up for next!
Re: Monday fitness post!
Have him talk to Kev at the Luau... cause he did the Mudder last year in eastern PA. I think it was near the poconos.
I am just stretching a lot still. Last sunday I had terrible sciatic pain due to my piriformis muscle in my tush being inflamed/overused and pinching my sciatic nerve. My foot is still numb. All this I think because I got new shoes that really resolve my over pronation issues. Perhaps too well.
You go Emmy. Two sites that have a nice list of all the 5ks they are timing is:

So I have 5K in Oatmont this coming saturday. All set to improve my time from last 2 5ks in April. I mainly have to run the treadmill due to DHs travel. I can run a good 28-30 mins without issue. Well saturday morning I decided to do an outside run. Our neighborhood is hilly but stuck to flat parts. Well I made it 2 songs or so and needed a walk break. Proof road is way different. Trying not to get discouraged but almost thinking of after this 5k to take a break from running for my cardio and doing something else. Not sure what. I do have the Jillian Michaels Body Revolution DVD set that I have done the first few weeks of. It is a 3 month plan. Or doing one of the beach body sets like Turbofire. I love a good cardio class but again with DH travel I need to find something I can do at home. The beachbody set are kind of pricey compared to other workout DVD sets. Thoughts from the runners???
Rona, running on the road is different. Slow down your pace and you will have better luck transitioning! I am not familiar with any of those DVDs- but changing up your exercise of choice is fine as long as you are motivated/enjoy that and get the challenge you want!
I got a couple days of Zumba in and a few days of running.
A week ago I did my run and made it to 5K in under 30 mins! I was super excited! I took it a little easier the rest of the week.
With schedules I ended up doing a couple runs with the family while dd was on her bike so there was some stopping at times. But dd is getting to be a good biker and I have to run to keep up. I ran on Friday when I wasn't feeling all that great and it was pretty warm so that kind of killed me for the weekend! I was thinking I'd run last night but still am battling not feeling great so I didn't.
I only made it out twice last week, and only ran about 20 minutes or so. I have a 5k this Sunday, but I haven't been keeping up with my running the past few weeks, so I'm not expecting a great time. I'm starting my 1/2 marathon training plan on July 1st, so I've been using that as my excuse to take it easy this month.
Caron- I read somewhere that you should put your treadmill on the level 2 incline to prepare for running outside.
Thanks! I have been trying to increase my incline and have not been very diiligent about. Note to self!!
