Mad Men- Bob and Peter

*****Possible spoilers if you haven't seen this weeks episode yet***********

Some one please clear this up for me.

Bob Benson basically just showed up at SCDP and started working there.  No one actually hired him, he just showed up and blended in.

Pete figured it out, Bob admitted it.  Pete basically said I know who you are and what you are doing (ala Don Draper) but decided to work with him because if he is that good of a con artist, then he might be valuable.  But to stop hitting on him.

Am I right?  The hubs and I were all... wtf?

Re: Mad Men- Bob and Peter

  • So I get that he pulled a Don Draper, but I got that Ken hired him. Can you imagine in this day and age someone pulling one of these lost pasts?

people frequently still lie on resumes. I don't think it's uncommon at all.

There is lying on your resume and then there is completely falsifying your past.  Little different.

If I have learned anything from Mad Men and Catch Me if You Can, it's you could be anything you wanted in the 1960's- if you were a really good liar.

  • Don is one thing

it sounds like Bob benson just created a r?sum? full of lies. It's not like his commander was killed during war and he too his name and ***.

  • Bob created a completely different past, I can't remember what Duck said, is BOB his real name?

He didn't create a different past he lied? I mean people lie about family and upbringing all the time. I really don't think it is that far fetched to think this doesn't actually happen.

  • I finally got around to watching this last night.  That scene confused me.  I thought for sure he'd fire him.
