Confession...

I just typed out a horribly long 1st world problem post, only to talk myself into the answer and delete the entire post...leaving me with this uneventful confession.  Can you tell I'm avoiding working right now?

Re: Confession...

  • lol...

well how's this for a 1st world problem.  I just schlepped both kids to kmart to by a kiddie pool.  I got the biggest one, because I'm an awesome mom.  It took me about 15 minutes to get both kids and the pool to the car.  And it didn't fit in the crv!   I probably looked like a nut trying to shove this thing into the car.   Then like a fool I had to drag everybody back into the store to return it.  How embarrassing.

    Been there!

  • Oh I hate that! It's the schlepping the kids that would have made me figure out a way to make it work - even if it was throwing it over my car. LOL

My confession is that I work remote 3 days a week, but I'm flexible on it due to deadlines, meetings I need to attend in person, etc. Well, I try to be fair about it and I swap days to make it consistent. (ie. Fourth of July week I'm coming in Wed. since my normal days are Mon/Thurs, but the holiday is Thurs.) My boss doesn't seem to care, as long as we mark our team calendar so that our colleagues know.

Well next week I need to be remote 5 days, due to Gavin doing a Bible Camp. (None of his friends signed up, like I thought they would, so I have no one to carpool with as it's only from 9-Noon.) I could come into the office tomorrow to kind of "make up" one of the days next week, but there is nothing making me do it, so I've decided I'm not going to.

  • Ugh, I've had to return stuff that I couldn't fit in my car, it's such a PITA. I did this on black Friday once with a television. It was infuriating!

Clare, how awesome you get to work from home 3x a week!

I have a ton of things due in the next 2-3 weeks and have absolutely no motivation to do them.  I think I've read all of the internet.

A good friend had a baby a few weeks ago and I'm a little jealous how some of our friends are doing stuff for her, checking in on her, buying/making her special things, when they didn't do that for me/us - which has led me to experience Facebook rage/envy, yet again.

that stinks!  This is also the reason I deleted facebook months ago.  I couldn't handle the negative feelings it brought out in me.

I know, I hate how angry/upset/annoyed it makes me. I'm toying with taking a hiatus. I like to post pictures of G b/c Casey's family is all out of state - maybe I'll try to discipline myself to just post stuff and not scroll the feed or something.

This totally happens to me....especially with one particular friend who seems to bend over backwards for everyone but me!  You are not alone! (And it sucks because then it makes me feel stupid and shallow.... its not like I wanted presents, but it makes me feel less valued as a friend...)

EXACTLY! I really do feel so shallow, it's not that I want "stuff" by any means. It just hurts to see they're capable of all of these kind gestures, just not for me, lol.
