We had our babies!
I'm sorry that I have been MIA, but it has been a crazy week and a half. On June 5th, we had an u/s that showed a problem with the placenta on Baby B. On Monday, we had a repeat u/s and were told that Baby B had absent diastolic flow from the placenta to the baby. We were given two options - 1. Wait and let Baby B get worse but give Baby A more time to grow or 2. deliver both now even though Baby A was fine. We decided to deliver both and on the 12th, we delivered a gorgeous baby girl and boy at 30 weeks. Baby A was 3 lbs 11 oz. and Baby B was 2 lbs. 7 oz.
They are both in the NICU and will probably be here for a couple months at least. This was unexpected and I have been on an emotional roller coaster. They are both improving and were on room air the day after delivery. Baby B took a turn for the worse over the weekend and had to be put on the vent, but he is off that now and is as feisty as ever! We are celebrating little milestones like poopy diapers and precious cries. I was able to hold them together for the first time today and they immediately grasped hands. We would appreciate any T and P's you could spare for our babies.
