On-the-go food suggestions
My work is solely surrounded by greasy fast food places. I want to eat healthy but sometimes I just don't have the time to make a full packed lunch (supplies is also limited sometimes lol)
Any suggestions of good things I can grab on the go? I live across the street from a grocery store. I would need something I could make easily at work without having to cook.
ETA: I split into paragraphs. It hurt my eyes the other way

I keep peanut butter and plastic knives in my office and will cut up an apple and dip it in. Easy. And healthy.

"People talk about escapism as if it's a bad thing... Once you've escaped, once you come back, the world is not the same as when you left it. You come back to it with skills, weapons, knowledge you didn't have before. Then you are better equipped to deal with your current reality."

it's not much help, but I usually take left overs of whatever i made for dinner the night before.
i also almost always have a boost (high protein version), crackers, banana or apple w/ peanut butter, dry cereal, etc on hand. I don't usually eat it all, but it's nice to have the options when nothing sounds appealing.

I always have a jar of peanut butter in my desk drawer. I bring in apples daily and have them together.
I bring in boxes of cereal and keep a bowl in my drawer. And use the milk the office has for coffee.
I also have packets of instant oatmeal.
Often I cut up tomatoes and cheese in a tupperware and bring a side of balsamic and EVOO with a piece of Italian bread from home.
Greek Yogurt cups with granola.
If you like PB&J, that is the easiest thing to bring with you. I make one for DH every night to bring to work with him. Or if you want to make it at work, keep a loaf of bread and a jar at your desk. Neither has to be refrigerated.
OMG, I need this NOW! That sounds awesome! I know what I'm doing for a snack when I get home
do you have access to a fridge? then you could have hummus, carrot sticks, and yogurt in there.
Also, I have the most success when I pack my meals all on the weekend-- put fruit or veggies in Tupperware, mix pasta salad (I make mine super heavy onthe veggies, greens and beans but there is pasta too) etc. And I 2nd PP who suggested leftovers-- I just put the leftovers in individual sized Tupperware and take the next day for lunch...
Make it part of your morning routine to pack a lunch and snacks. Or, if your morning is rushed, pack it the night before. I bought a cooler for a 6 pack of cans and an ice pack for around $15 at Target. It looks like a slightly oversized lunch box.
I often snack on fiber one bars, dried cereal or fruit. String cheese and yogurt are great options, too. Last time I was pregnant, I loved wheat thins and avocado hummus. I think the brand was summer fresh?
You need to plan it out and pack it in advance or you will end up making poor choices and spending a lot of extra money in the process.
