I've bought several pairs of flip flops and sandals for G and none of them have worked, most of them fall off his feet, even with the velcro strap. The only sandal type shoe I've found that works are water shoes, which will work if I can't find anything else.
I've been looking at Teva and Keen sandals - but they seem so pricey for the short time he'll wear them ($25-$40). Are they worth it? What about Stride Rite sandals?
Have any of you found a sandal that you love for your kids? G is currently in a size 5 - 5.5.

Nike sunray adjust 4....it's the second year I've gotten these for the girls. They are really light weight and adjustable in the back and on the top of the foot. DD worn hers to Sesame Place last year and they worked well in the water too.
I do feel like they run a little small, so I size up.
Saltwater Sandals by Hoy. They are waterproof, adjustable, and he won't be able to take them off. Locally I think only Nordstrom carries them and usually I have to order online. They run about $ 35 bucks.
I like the "surfer" style the best.
I am 100% KEENS. Seriouly. I bought them the first real summer of walking and being totally mobile and fell in love with them. Yes they are 40-50 but they are the ONLY shoe I buy him and he wears ALL SUMMER no matter what. I love that they are waterproof, washable and have the soles and toe of a tennis shoe so parks and bikes and all that are just fine. if we end up in a fountain he just goes in with them on, they dry quick etc...
I lucked out and Adam wore his first pair for 2 years, But I have bought 2 pairs since.
I have a friend that now buys them every year for her boys too. consider howmany $10-$20 flipflops and such you bought already that he can't run and play safely in and you could have had your keens all along!
I go to the galleria and get them.

Thanks, all! You've given me some great options, I appreciate it!
Lisa, do the Keens run true to size? If G is in a 5.5, would I do a 5 or a 6 in a Keen?
i have always taken him and gotten sized, but id say yes and i usually go up. so for you id go 6.
like he measured right at 10 and we actually went 11. they adjust and stay on really well so i opt for the room to grow to gey through the season.

I was having a hard time finding sandals Wes would wear (and keep on), and I finally found these from Target that work. I've heard good things about the more expensive brands, but I never seem to get anywhere they sell them, and I never have luck ordering shoes online for the kids.

Thanks everyone! I ordered a pair of Keen from ShoeBuy.com
They have free shipping both ways (for returns) and for some reason, this color combo was $10 cheaper than the other color combos and I had a coupon code from ebates, too! I scored a pair for G for $35.
