I noticed on FB that a lot of people went to the drive-in this weekend. Where are the drive in theaters in the area? Are there more than one? (I could probably google this, but I thought I'd ask to get the board moving.)
Re: Drive-In Movie Theaters
We went this weekend, the boys loved it! The only bad part about it is that they don't start the movie until it's dark (obviously), so by the time the movie was over it was after 11. There was no way we could stay for the 2nd show, because my kids would never just lay down and go to sleep. We went to Evergreen Drive In in Mt Pleasant, so that would be pretty far for you guys. I had never been to that area and wow, it is God's country out there. Sometimes it's so weird to me that we have such rural areas so close to where we live!
I googled to find local drive ins, there really aren't many. Mt. Pleasant is probably the closest to us. (And we were out to dinner in Latrobe, so it was on our way home, sort of).
There is one in Robinson. I've never actually been there though.
Twin Hi-Way Drive in

That is the one we've gone to also. Although I am trying to think if we ever took Madi or just DH and I have only gone. Heck we often can't stay for the second movie. Ha. Let alone my child. lol.
Yeah, I doubt it if I'd have made it through the 2nd movie either! It was also Iron Man 3 and I have zero interest in super hero movies, so I know I couldn't have stayed awake for that!
I like Twin-Highway a bit more because it is a bit smaller and easier to get in and out of.
these are the two I am familiar with, twin hi-way just reopened somewhat recently after being closed for a long while. I saw Muppets Take Manhattan there in the back of a big blue station wagon once. I have been to the dependable too, sometime in highschool. Some people will call it the dirty dependable, apparently it had some history of showing adult films.
I always heard this too! Can you imagine porn on a giant drive-in screen?
Uh not to mention whatever was going on in all those cars? shudder.
Thankfully now the dependable is just a regular drive in. That's just so sleazy.
The dependable is bigger than Twin hi-way, so more screens and more movie options. There is a coupon for Twin hi-way in the entertainment book.
