Re: How spendy was your weekend?

  • FI and I paid off another $2500 loan this weekend. Which means we get to treat ourselves. With the upcoming wedding we are both very stressed and decided to make a day trip.

Friday-$64 on wedding related items (fabric, photo prints, clothespins, dye, chalboard, wedding mints) Unavoidable expenses sadly.

Saturday-$0 stayed home and he was incredibly busy.

Sunday- $125 dollars on books for our collection(our treat for the loan), Dinner, new swimsuit for him for an upcomming vacation, breakfast, a good will trip(more books), Movies.

Total-$189 We hate spending like this but we really needed to get away and we had some extra cash. Also have to complain that we live far away from the city so going for a day trip usually takes us the ENTIRE day. Hence the two meals.

    Not so good this weekend.

  • Alyssa, congrats on paying off the loan!!!

Our weekend was really a good one.

Friday groceries for this week were $65 and DH went to pick up his birthday present so that was $65 too (wanted some hunting bag that I couldn't pick out for him)

Saturday ran out to get a couple things I had forgotten for the weekend for groceries so spent another $10.

Sunday went to church and stayed in.

    Overall we spent $140.

Friday - $80 cash out for our town festival weekend.

Saturday - $0 Ball game and dinner with his work for employee appreciation.

Sunday - $20 donation for Fireman's pancake breakfast (came out of $80 pulled out).

We have $20 cash left over. So only spent $60 on our town festival. I was very pleased with this.

  • Good job on the loan, and congrats on the upcoming wedding!

Ours wasn't great, eek. But we figured, we are trying to establish more of a social life with new friends, so we decided to spend a bit more to do so!

Friday- $33 on drinks and apps and cover charge out with friends

Saturday- $15 on lunch for me and my friend (I owed her $ for a concert ticket)

    $40 on golf for DH

    Target- $57 for groceries

    Sunday- Gas for me $36

    eating out- $20

     So, $201.

  • I almost don't want to think about how much we spent this weekend...

Friday: Over $2,750 at Home Depot for new appliances (just bought a house and there were no appliances), some paint and other odds and ends that we needed

Saturday: $20 for brunch at Panera, $11 on beverages and snacks, $20 for pizzas for everyone who was helping us move, $120 for moving truck & supplies, $180 for movers, $60 on gas for my car and the moving truck

Sunday: $420 for groceries & blinds (we have been avoiding shopping because of the move, so we had pretty much run out of everything...we saved our 20% off grocery coupon for this shopping trip and ended up saving well over $150 for the groceries...stocked two fridges and a pantry!)

    Total: $3,581 (OUCH!)

DH and I are officially on a spending freeze now. Only the essentials!
