Organzing Our Small Bedroom or Design Help
Hi my name is Zen.
I currently live with my partner in a 3 bedroom apartment in Queens,
NY. The dilemma is that our bedroom is
so tiny we have no space for our clothes, shoes and other stuff. We have a bathroom in our bedroom and it is
almost bigger than our bedroom! Storage
is the worst in our small space. Our
closet is full to the max and very sloppy and I have no idea how to start to
organize it. When we do laundry, all our
clean clothes stay in bags, because there is no room to put it away. Please help, because I am stressed and I am
tired of living like a bag lady!

We are in a TINY two bedroom and when our son was born, we had to make a lot of adjustments. First step is always to clean house. Go through everything you have and get rid of stuff. For clothes, I like the one year rule. If you didn't wear it at all in a whole year, it's not worth the space. (Some exceptions apply - i.e. maternity clothes if you plan on having another kid). Do not keep clothes that don't fit thinking you will need then sometime in the future. Donate them.
For non-clothes, etc -- I read this somewhere and think of it every time I clean out any part of the house. "Only keep things that are Useful, Beautiful, and Joyful"
