QOTD 6/27

Do you ever go to home parties like Tupperware, Pampered Chef, Partylite, etc?  Have you ever sold it?

Re: QOTD 6/27

  • I've hosted one pure romance party when my CW started selling it.  I thought I'd help her out with starting her business.  I've been to a few other pure romance parties, and one Mary Kay party but other than that, no.  I'm not really into it, usually just overpriced items.  Never sold it either.

  • I've been to a few Pampered Chef parties, a Tastefully Simple party, a Thirty-One party, and probably 3 or 4 jewelery parties (can't remember the company name, but they were all the same).  I also bought some Partylite candles off of a friend who was having a party that I couldn't attend.

I have not sold anything like this though, but it is something I kind of am considering, even though I've never told anyone (except you ladies).

  • I have been to soooo many different parties:

    1. Pampered Chef
    2. Partylite
    3. Lia Sophia
    4. Tealightful treasures
    5. Longaberger
    6. Tastefully Simple
    7. Tupperware
    8. Stampin Up
    9. Creative Memories
    10. Thirty-One
    11. Madison Handbags
    12. I am sure there are more

I also sold Pampered Chef, Partylite, Creative Memories, Stampin up and Wildtree.

I never made any money at it since I never really had any parties.  I had a group of friends who each sold something different so we would denerally sell to each other and then give each other the discount.

  • I've never hosted a party. I went to one jewelry party when I was in college. I also had a friend who sold Mary Kay that would drag me along to meetings with her, but never any parties. Never considered selling any of them.

  • I've been to a couple: Avon, jewelry, Airbonne, home goods and pampered chef. I usually will buy something out of obligation. I have never hosted a party and have never considered selling anything.

  • I've gone to a couple Pure Romance parties and a couple Southern Living parties.  I actually really liked Southern Living, but I think they either got bought out or closed down.

  • I've been to a couple parties for different things. But I've never sold anything. Between my mom who has sold everything from Avon, Amway and Tupperware to the ladies at work, I've more than covered for anything I could ever want to purchase lol.

  • Um My mom used to do the pampered chief, tuperware, avon, home interiors, etc.  I went to my CW's cookie lee jewerly party.  I did a book party sale for that... didn't sale much.

I just "won" a pampered chief party from my friend.  I should schedule that.

  • i hosted a scentsy party - a friend started selling it and asked me to host her 1st party so she could figure out how to run the parties etc.

i have been to scentsy , thirty one, pampered chef, and tastefully simple. i usually end up buying something.

  • Never had a party and haven't been to one of those parties since my mom had a Pampered Chef party when I was in high school. I'm glad that I haven't been invited to any lately since I know I would feel obligated to spend money on stuff that I don't want or need.

I think the stuff is over priced and, as far as Pampered Chef goes, is not stuff that I use. I LOVE to cook and HATE Pampered Chef! I have one of their pizza stones that I like, but I feel like most of their stuff is just cheaply made gadgets. I'd rather have a Henckels knife and a good All Clad plan than a bunch of silly gadgets taking up room in my kitchen.

  • In college, my sorority hosted a Passion Party.  It was a really fun thing for all of us to do one evening.

I went to a Tupperware party a few years ago hosted by a coworker.  I felt obligated to buy things.  I bought these small containers, like for salad dressing to bring to work for lunch, but they were difficult to use and a threw them out.  I also bought this chopper thing that works well, but takes longer to clean than use.  It's just taking up space in my cabinet.

Another friend had a Pampered Chef party.  I couldn't make it but she pressured me to buy something.  I wanted a pineapple corer, so I bought that from them.  It broke, with normal, suggested use, after about 4 uses.  Can't find my receipt so I can't return it :(

In the future, I think I will attend things like that to be polite, but avoid purchasing anything since I don't need it and won't use it.
