Hi there!
As I'm sitting at home recovering from a tonsillectomy last week I figured I'd give the Nest a try! My name is Erin and my H and I were married on April 6th. We are both teachers (I'm elementary, he's a professor at a university) and we live in the North Hills area of Pittsburgh. I'm a life-long 'Burgh girl who bleeds black & gold and loves the city!
I look forward to chatting with everyone!
Re: Hello! Newbie here!
Welcome to the board, and congrats on your recent wedding!!
it's pretty slow around here this week, I think a lot of people must be off enjoying vacations!
I'm a NH dweller, too!

Lucky them! H and I don't even get to honeymoon until Christmas thanks to this surgery.
I love the North Hills. H and I won't ever live anywhere else in the city. Now that we're getting a Trader Joe's, I mean, what can be better?
I didn't realize one was going in! It would be even better if PA would change the laws so that you could purchase $2 chuck in the store!

Hi there! congrats on your wedding!
I am in the South hills... and we have trader joes, and are getting whole foods and fresh market. So yea... no contest.
Welcome to the board!
Yep, in the McCandless Crossing, by where the Lowe's is on McKnight. A big, new movie theater and a Panera drive thru are also going in.
I'd LOVE to try some $2 chuck. I think the next closest TJ's outside of PA is in Ohio somewhere and I'm not that pressed to try it!
You South Hills snobs!
I moved to Pgh 17yrs ago and have always lived in the NH. In fact, McCandless Crossing used to be collge bldgs where I took graphic design classes! I love the area and am sad to leave, but it's nice to see new faces around here. I think if it wasn't for us old fogies hanging on, this board would dissipate!
Welcome and congrats on your newlywed status!
My three sons!
Hello and welcome!
Well, the TJ's is not a sure thing yet, they are still trying to make it happen. Sorry.
I am a NH dweller yet I have let my husband convince me to me west, although it is still 3 weeks away. I am still not sure how this happened. Oh, I know, we got a great deal on 6.5 acres of land that includes a house! ;-)
My H once taught GD at the college there.
I'm originally from the West Hills and I've spent most of my time teaching there. Maybe it's because of that I couldn't live there? Robinson just makes me so anxious anymore.
When I first came to "this side" of the river I hated the Robinson shopping area and I was sad that I was not raising my kids in the North Hills. But I'm learning to love it over here.
And hey we are getting a Tilted Kilt in Robinson, so there's something to look forward to ( Big eye roll!)
Welcome! I'm also a west dweller. Which districts did you teach in? We haven't started the school system yet, but are in West A.
My only preference to which area of the city I live is that it's close to where I'm working. I HATE long commutes. :-P
Hope you feel better soon!
