YAY FRIDAY!!

Any plans this weekend?  Anything good happen this week?

Re: YAY FRIDAY!!

  • Hooray for Friday! We had a pretty uneventful week.

Tonight, we are headed to the pool for a workout and then maybe out to dinner. Tomorrow we are helping out  besties move into their new house. Sunday, H is working a 12 hour shift and I have brunch with some of my favorite ladies before our church service. Then, home to run errands.

  • We are on track to close on our house next month.  The appraiser went out yesterday and we also got the house measured for carpet.  I am so excited!!

We don't have much planned for the weekend.  We may have a friend over tomorrow night but that's about it.  Maybe we should start packing.

  • congrats, jwrenne!!

It's been a pretty good week overall. We got pre-qualified for our loan for a house, so now we get to start actually looking at some! I talked to our realtor today and told her some of the houses we're interested in, so we'll hopefully get in to see them soon! She said possibly as early as Sunday! Also, I got to see my classroom, finally. Now I have to start cleaning it up and get ready to work on it. Plan what I'm going to do with it.

I have had a couple of ehh moments. The worst was this morning when I logged into one of our credit cards to check the balance since the statement closed yesterday. We don't use the card much at all, usually about $50 a month. I logged in and it said $560 dollar balance. We had $500 in fradulent charges! In England! I told the lady on the phone, I'd love to be in England, but I'm definitely not. So we had to cancel the cards and get new ones sent. The other ehh thing was I picked up 10 kittens from a shelter for a friend who's out of town and is going to foster them because they'd be put down otherwise. I offered to watch 5 of them over at her house. We've got them in a bathroom...the next day I walked in and there were only 3!! 2 got under the tub and we couldn't find them. Luckily the next day we discovered one of them in the garage. The other's in there somewhere, we assume. There's apparently a hole from under the tub into the garage! I was freaking out!

  • Congrats jwrenne!

And jen, that really sucks about your credit card.  That happened to me last year.  I had fraudulent charges from out of state.  It's such a pain.

DH and I were approved for our house loan (we are building a Ryan home and approximate closing date is the beginning of November).  We were expecting to be approved, but it's nice to know we have it for sure.

DH may go to the casino tonight.  Tomorrow we are going to a family reunion and tomorrow night we are going to the Pirates game (Go Bucs!).  Sunday we are going to my mom's cousin's 80th birthday party.

  • I started planting in the front yard.  It's going to be a combination of blue hydrangeas, purple hostas and yellow daylilies.  I think that will be a pleasant color palet.  The Hydrangeas can be pink if my soil isn't acidic enough, but apparently you can change the color by adding coffee grounds to the soil.  Pretty cool!  I'll have to post pictures when they are all planted and the house is painted.  Right now my house is gray with magenta trim, it looks as bad as it sounds!  We are probably painting it blue and gray, not sure.

This weekend my aunt and uncle are in town from Montana so we're going to dinner with them tonight.  It's also my dad's birthday so we're also celebrating that.  I have a bachelorette party for a CW tomorrow.  I'm pretty excited, it should be a good time!  Hopefully I don't fall too far off the healthy food wagon!

Sounds like the garden will be beautiful!! I can't wait to see pictures! My MIL has changed the color of her hydrangeas before.

BTW, it sounds like you're always having fun, and I'm totally jealous. I want to live closer to you and do all the fun things you do with you. haha.

  • Jwren- congratulations on the promotion!

Jen- I hope your credit card gets straightened out.  Similar thing happened to H's sister a few months ago the night before she went on vacation.  She was on her landline in NY with the credit card company and as they were on the phone, charges were coming through from a Costco in Philadelphia.  The customer service agent kept asking if SIL was sure she wasn't using her credit card right then.  SIL was like can't you see I'm calling from a landline.  It took a few weeks but the charges were reversed.  I'm not sure if they ever caught the person who stole the card number.

Seipel- your plants sound beautiful!  I love those color combinations.  Your house will look so cheery!

Today was the last day of school!!!! FINALLY!!!! I was mad because my principal made us go to training at another school from 12:30-3:00 and most other schools were let out at 12.  I was angry sitting in this meeting looking at Facebook and all these people were out.  I'm over it now.

One of my good friends had a baby over night so H and I went to the hospital to visit her and meet the baby.  He is adorable and perfect.  His diaper was quite full while I was holding him and he peed through the diaper.  I was soaked!  I then taught my friend and her H how to change a diaper.  They hadn't done it yet.

Tomorrow morning we have dentist appointments and we're going out with H's family for dinner for H's grandparents' 69th anniversary.  I can't believe they're married for so long.
