quick Idlewild question

Weather-permitting (please change the forecast!), we're planning on taking the kids to Idlewild for the first time on Friday. If we're going to skip soak zone (which is my goal), how long would you say it will take us to get through the rest of the park? we plan on getting there when it opens (I was surprised to see that's not until 10:30am), so I'm just trying to plan out the day, factor in Liam's nap, etc...

When we went with the kids last year and skipped soak zone, we were ready to go by 3 or 4.

We just went Friday and skipped soak zone. We were there until 5 but we did have a "rain delay" where we hung out under the pavilion for about an hour while it poured.

Good to know, thanks!! Looking at the map, the place looks much bigger than I thought it would be, I wasn't sure if it was going to end up being a well-into the evening hours kind of place! 3 or 4 will work out well, I am assuming that Liam will fall asleep on the way there (he can barely make it 15 min in the car without passing out), then that should be enough to power him through most of the afternoon if we leave by 3 or 4.

Emmy - we are thinking of going on Friday as well! Did you get tix thru the WPU ticket office? I'm trying to find out how much they are there without walking my lazy bum over.

NO! I didn't know they had any available. I'm a bad employee. I was just going to purchase through giant eagle.

$28.99 at Giant Eagle (I just called the WPU ticketing office, they aren't selling them this year, so it's a good thing you didn't drag yourself over there!)

If we get there around 11, we usually will stay through dinner. We never do Soak Zone either. I usually do Storybook Forest and the play area there first, then the kiddie rides, then whatever big rides they want to go on with us. I personally have a higher tolerance for long trips to Idelwild than Kennywood b/c it's shady!

This exactly! I love Idlewild so much more than Kennywood. we get there around 10:30 and stay until 6:30 or 7:00
