Less than a month for many!

I hope everyone's first year of marriage has been magical! Was it everything you would hope it would be?

Lately I have been finding myself thinking what I was doing a year ago right now between my shower and bachelorette party weekends. Is anyone else doing that, too?

Re: Less than a month for many!

  • I wouldn't say it was magical, but it has been nice and crazy busy!

I am doing the same thing! I keep thinking "This time a year ago was.... or this time a year ago this was going on"...

  • I kinda miss all of the excitement from last year.  It went by so fast...I can't believe we're hitting a year.  Did you make any anniversary plans?

  • I miss it to at some times, but since we are preparing for our little man, that is kind of taking the place of that. For our anniversary, we are going to just stay home. We will go for massages that morning and then we are making the same dinner we had on our first night of our honeymoon followed by cake. What about you guys? Any ideas of what you are getting your H?

  • It has been a great year! We actually contacted the photographer from our wedding and we're doing an anniversary shoot on vacation in Barbados since he happens to be there around the same time.

We still haven't bought a home, but our apartment is still damn good. Working on buying a house though. I lost about 20 lbs and got a new job. My husband got a promotion and married life is better than we could have hoped.

  • We made plans for an anniversary weekend away.  We're going to a resort about 2 1/2 hrs away to celebrate.  I'm excited to get away and it's on a lake so it'll be a nice trip there.

melntaitt - It sounds like you had a very eventful year.  Congrats on losing 20 lbs! I would like to make sure to take some pictures on our anniversary holding a sign that says "1st Anniversary" then every year take a picture to see how things change over the years.

  • I was just thinking today how this time last year, I was in a frenzy planning the wedding.  The year has definitely gone by very fast, and a lot has happened (graduating from college, new jobs for both of us, home renovations).  We are planning to have dinner at the place we had our rehearsal dinner (we also had engagement dinner there too!) and stay in a nice hotel for the weekend.  I can't wait!

**6.30.12** I have found the one whom my soul loves.

    Anniversary
  • We have many around us getting married in the coming months, it's kind of fun to sit back and enjoy all of the showers, etc without going crazy myself with planning. The last year has flown by I cannot believe we are about a month away!

  • I haven't been around here at all, but yeah - it's hard to believe it's been almost a year! I am so glad NOT to be in the middle of all the last-minute frenzy I was dealing with a year ago. My sister's getting married this summer, and I'm glad to be able to help out from the sidelines.

We're still trying to figure out what to do for our anniversary. So far, going out for dinner is the only sure thing, but we're trying to think of something else fun - but low key - to do as well.

    Anniversary
  • I did some reflecting as my wedding anniversary was nearing too. For some reason, I JUST realized that I didn't do much reflecting on our honeymoon in the mountains last year. Of course, I took two 4 week online courses this semester so I have been a busy bee. I should be done with the semester after tomorrow. I will welcome the seven week break. For our anniversary, we had Sunday brunch at a new restaurant in town. We were seated right next to the live entertainment (solo artist). Later that night we cut the top of our bridal cake. It was as tasty and fresh and the day of our wedding! Seriously. Did I mention we ate with mint chocolate ice cream? That was the flavor of the groom's cake last yr. (bridal was red velvet)
