I had my 39 week appointment today. My cervix is finally softening and is 50% effaced. The doctor made sure to tell me it really didn't mean anything though, as it is not an exact science. He said I could go into labor tonight and ladies who are 4 cm dilated could walk around for a week or more like that. You just never know every woman and pregnancy is different, even the same woman in two different pregnancies. My mom told me she walked around 4 cm dilated with me for a month. YIKES!
I love the doctor I saw today and hope he is the one who delivers. He is on call today so he had 3 different ladies in labor at the same time. We ended up waiting an hour to see him, but they gave us free meal tickets for the cafeteria. Just as we got there, they called us back to the office, so we ate after the appointment. I had sweet and sour chicken, green beans, fried rice, and delicious strawberries all on the practice. YAY!!
We scheduled an appointment for Monday, July 8th in case baby girl decides to stay in past her due date. If we have that appointment then they would talk about setting up induction for later that week. I'm using this extra time to repack her bag since they think she is going to be over 8 lbs.
