How was everyone's weekend?
Mine was pretty boring. Saturday morning my mom came down and we went shopping and gathered items for the bridal shower in 2 weeks. Sam had to work, so I didn't do anything the rest of the day. Sunday, I did laundry and picked up the house.. again that was about it. I was going to go to his softball game in the evening, but the weather was crappy. That's about it for me!

Re: Manic Monday
Mine was pretty good. Friday I worked at home so it almost felt like a long weekend. We had California Closets do our master bedroom closet. It took him most of Friday, but it is AWESOME! We are so happy with the finished product.
Saturday DH worked until 2, so cleaning up around the house and some relaxing for me and the puppy during the morning. That night we went out to dinner and a pub with some new friends and had a great time.
Yesterday was lots of errands - grocery store, Sam's, etc. Also got all of the laundry done and then DH's sister came over for dinner.
Good morning!
H worked Friday night, it was the wine dinner so he brought a few bottles home and we stayed up watching Borgia.
Saturday we had plans for our friends to come over with their little girl and we were going to make dinner and let the kids swim like we did a few weeks ago. And then all hell broke loose.
MIL was staying with our 2 nieces while BIL and SIL were in Vegas for her sister's wedding. I was looking forward to a MIL free weekend (it's got to happen eventually). Well, she calls H frantically Saturday afternoon saying (I can't type this with a straight face and can't believe the story I'm about to tell you), saying she was attacked by a raccoon. He immediately drove over there to get the girls. Everything following that was so confusing, I didn't even get a straight story until last night.
What happened was that she was taking her purse out to the car bc they were going to go somewhere, the girls were still in the house. She saw the raccoon under the car from several feet away and her best idea was to yell "Shoo, go away!" while swinging her purse in its direction. That didn't work and it started hissing, so her next idea was to hit the Panic button thinking it would run away. Well she did but instead of running the other way, it ran in her direction. So she ran, it ran away, and while running she fell down and hurt her wrist.
So H brought the girls over and iour friends still came over so we had a house of 4 kids. We assumed MIL would go see a doctor or at least go to the emergency clinic, but instead she shows up an hour or so later dressed to the nines to go to her client's husbands retirement dinner because it was at a big fancy restaurant, which is obviously way more importnat than a possibly broken wrist. She could not even move it and she had to drive 45 minutes to the restaurant and back. She is insane.
Originally, SIL's friends teenager was going to stay with the girls while MIL was at the dinner, but with all this going on, long story short, we ended up having the girls stay overnight and MIL was supposed to go to the clinic immediately after dinner. She calls later in the night and said she was going to go in the morning.
Sunday, she finally went to the clinic and they gave her a removable brace and told her she will need some kind of physical therapy for her thumb to which she said no and that her chiropractor would take care of it. She didn't even bother to tell them her shoulders were also affected. We told her to go home and we would just keep the girls til that night when their parents flew in bc it would just be too much on her. So we did and the kids were crazy all day. MIL came over again in the evening and she wasn't even wearing her brace saying that she was "fine". They should have put a friggin cast on her bc I know she will not wear that thing.
Finally BIL and SIL got back and took the girls around 730. H and I watched some more Borgia after the kiddo was in bed and spied on our accross the street neighbors who we have concluded are involved in some sort of trafficking conspiracy or something. They have cars and trucks always pulling up at night, sit there parked for like 10 to 20 minutes, with their freaking lights on, and then drive off. At first we thought it was just family stopping by to check on the grandparents or dropping kids off or something but that's clearly not the case. One day one of the kids went missing for several hours and the grandmother came over to ask if I had seen her. I suggested she call the police, but she was apprehensive. I sent MIL to talk to her bc the lady only spoke spanish and MIL said the same thing, that she didn't seem to want to call the cops. Ya know, for her missing kid. Crazy.
So now I'm at work, exhausted from unexpectedly having 3 kids all weekend and ready for another day off.
***I would like to note that if I did feel there was any real danger or threat from our neighbors, I would certainly alert the authorities, at the moment it is likely just our own creative paranoia mixed with watching entirely too many episodes of The Wire.
@zero: I don't know how you do it. Seriously.
Friday night I had to fix some shelves in our closet because I hung something up, and it just fell right off the wall. So, that was nice.
Saturday I enjoyed some down-time on my patio, and then H and I went to get some drinks that evening.
Sunday I slept in (first time in WEEKS) and then met a friend for lunch. Picked up the house and watched TV. It was the first weekend we didn't have tons of things to do. On the downside, no showings of our house yet. All of a sudden interest rates shot up and we got screwed, I think.
ditto!

My weekend was pretty good. I drove up to NC (10 hours) on Friday and met my family at my sister's house. My BIL graduated from the police academy so the rest of my family drove down from NJ and went to the graduation. I met them after for dinner.
Saturday my sister had a party for BIL. That was a hot mess. It was my immediate family plus the moms and kids from her mommies group. The mommies stood outside together drinking while the kids (20 between the ages of 2-6) destroyed the house inside. My sister is an idiot and just said "As long as the adults get to talk, I don't care what they do to the house" This would also be why my niece is a spoiled brat.
We were glad when that party was over. Sunday we had more time hanging out with the family before some of them drove back up north. I'm still in NC with my mom until Thursday. It's nice to be away for a bit but we're babysitting my niece and like I said, she's such a spoiled brat. She's 4 and she talks back and hits me. WTF?!
Weekend was good - vacation ended :-(
My Monday has SUCKED though! First, I go out to my car to go to work this morning, and it wouldn't start. My battery was dead. Luckily, I have the bike as another mode of transportation...however, it was rainy today! I put on DH's rain gear, and off to work I went.
I went to my parents after work because I had an eye appointment. On my way home from there, my bike decided to die on me! Ugh! I thought I had ran out of gas, so I sent my sister to get the gas can from home, but when I opened my gas tank, I still had gas. Not sure what happened, but I was able to get my bike started and finally made it home!
Hoping the rest of the week is better!!

I was down at the beach with DH and both of our families - MIL turned 50 this weekend, so we threw her a big surprise party.
I'm a little bummed because I was supposed to be down there today too, but it was raining all weekend and supposed to keep raining today, so I figured there was no sense in wasting PTO. Still bummed about that though.
