July 4/long weekend plans?
I am off the rest of the week, so I thought I'd selfishly post this today. And also I figure less and less people will be around as the week progresses. So what are you up to for the holiday (and hopefully everyone has a long weekend!)
Re: July 4/long weekend plans?
No long weekend for me, but I love these weeks because everyone seems to take time off...and when our employees are out of the office, that means I can have a calm, restful, and productive work week! I'll also be leaving early tomorrow and working a shorter day Friday, so it shouldn't be too bad. At least those are the positive spins I'm trying to tell myself about not having a long weekend!
On the 4th we are going to the in-laws for a picnic and swimming. On Friday we are either doing the drive in or heading to the neighbors for a bonfire. On Saturday our neighbor is having a cook out. On Sunday my parents are having a small cook out. So basically lots of eating and drinking!
I'm in the office tomorrow (though I will hope for an early dismissal!) , but off Thursday & Friday, so I'm counting down the hours at this point!!
as long as everyone is healthy, my BFF and family are coming into town and will be at our house on Sunday (her youngest is sick, so we're hoping he gets better soon!), and we have another family coming over to join us.
Friday, weather-permitting, we're off to Idlewild! I'm super excited, and I hope that the weather forecast changes.
Saturday, we have a wedding at 4pm. My mom is coming up to babysit the kiddos, so it will be a night out for me & Brian. No plans Sunday, probably catch up on yard work, I noticed that with all of the recent rain there are some weeds taking over huge portions of my flower beds!! Boo.

Today is my last day in the office until July 15. HOLLA!
Tonight we're going to a Pirates game.
On Thursday my parents have a big picnic and they have a pool. (Hopefully it will be warm enough and not rain so we can swim).
Friday the kids are going to daycare (for someone else to raise!) and I'm getting a mani/pedi and then running errands.
Saturday - DH wants to go to a co-workers pig roast, so we may stop by for a bit. I have a lot of other things to get ready for vacation - laundry, packing, cleaning up the house.
Sunday - leave for OCMD!
I'm taking off Friday and Monday because this is our big camping weekend. Every year I say I'm going to take Monday off after camping and this year I am finally doing it!
Last year was noticeably easier for me, so since the kids are another year older I expect more of the same. As long as we don't get soaked with rain, I think it will be a great time!
And on Monday I will get everything unpacked, clean the laundry, have lunch with a friend and pick the kids up early from camp. The next two weeks are busy, so I can't afford to get behind.
My boss decided to close the office Thursday and Friday (he is at the beach anyway!). So long weekend here I come.
Although it is not going to be terribly exciting at all.
Thursday I think we are going to a picnic.
Friday, Nathan works but I am trying to get an appt to take the dogs to the vet. Then I will have to go clean my car.
Saturday: get the bathroom painted so we can get the floors in.
Sunday: Set the toilet and vanity and have a done bathroom! Woo hoo! I will get to use it for 3 weeks before we move. We will probably also start assembling cabinets.

I have a long weekend, and hopefully will be able to leave early tomorrow as well. I have a long weekend, but Steve doesn't
However, the kids and I are going away anyway, since my sister and her husband are in town. We'll spend the weekend with my parents and sister/husband. We're hoping the weather is nice, because my sister wants to do lots of water activities. We usually buy a big pack of costco "fireworks" and light them off in the back yard. I think Michael may actually enjoy them this year
I have to work Wednesday& Friday so no long weekend for me
Thursday - I am running the Brentwood Firecracker 5k in the morning and then we are heading to my parents for swimming and a small cookout. We'll probably watch the fireworks from their house and then head home.
Saturday - If it's nice, we are going swimming somewhere. If not, maybe head to the movies to see Despicable Me 2.
Sunday - Gary is probably golfing so the kids and I will probably head to my parents house.
Happy 4th everyone!
I have to work Wednesday and Friday too. Booooo.
Thursday- My mom is coming over and our friends and their daughter to hopefully swim. Who knows with this weather. Have a small picnic.
friday - work- although the one other person working said we can leave at 1 and she doesn't care what time I get here. Score!
Saturday & Sunday- nothing really. DH wants to go to camp. I would rather get some stuff ready for vacation.
No long weekend here either - and no being off until July 15th like some people!
(I'm totally jealous, Amber)
Thursday I'm dancing the Brentwood parade and then going to my cousin's for a cook out.
Friday I think we actually have a quiet evening... weird!
Saturday I'm dancing in Idlewild and taking the whole family to spend the day. It's going to be fun now that Logan rides things!
Sunday we're celebrating my mom's birthday. She's one of the hardest people to buy for though. No clue what to get her.
no long weekend for me! =/
We are open all day on the 4th. We are closed for Lunch on the 5th??? But I will still work that morning to prep for dinner, (especially since we are starting new desserts Friday night), and for the weekend.
We are having DS 5th Birthday Party on Sunday so I will be busy prepping food and baking. I did however opt to have it outside of the house this year since I am 8 months pregnant. So I won't have to clean twice!!
My partner at work is on Vacation starting Monday so I will roll right off of party planning prep and hosting to a FULL week of work.
So far we have not gotten any invites to anything for the 4th. Not sure if we will go down to Dormont park for a bit and for Fireworks or not. DS was a HUGE baby about them last year crying for 20 min before it was even dark out so we left and missed them. Might just not bother this year. We bough him some sparklers so we might just go out front, do that, and call it a night!
