I am VERY sorry That so many of you found my comment offensive about not sending my children to daycare.
I Know almost everyone does it, and I have made a point to send my child to other classes and preschool and have playdates because I was concerned that he would be lacking in the social aspects that almost EVERYCHILD has now a days that most families have 2 working parents and use these services.
We are very Lucky that our jobs allow us to save on these expenses. I honestly don't know how people pay $40- $60 or more a day to have their child cared for.
The originally post was about what it would take for you to give up working. I said for me PERSONALLY it would be for DH to make a very good bit of money a more that was a sure thing since his income is not, OR if for some reason I was forced to change MY Schedule and would have to use Childcare.
FOR WHAT I MAKE, it would not be worth it to ME to work because other than benefits most of it would go to child care. IF I were left with NO MONEY after paying for child care, I would honestly rather just stay home and find another option than never see my children AND have to cut back a lot on luxury and expenses.
It was a personal comment for my personal situation.
Re: Whoa- SORRY didn't mean it like that....
ditto and now you've followed it up with
IF I were left with NO MONEY after paying for child care, I would honestly rather just stay home and find another option than never see my children AND have to cut back a lot on luxury and expenses.
I find this offensive as well. people who use daycare see their children!! I get that it isn't worth it to you but having a kid in daycare does not equal not seeing your child or somebody else raising them. I agree that if wouldn't make sense for a lot of people to do daycare in the above situation but there are less offensive ways to say it. Yes if your kid is in daycare you would see them less so that is fine to say but never seeing your kid is out of line.
perfectly put!
I agree with Amanda.
And, fwiw, I read what you wrote and didn't even think twice to take it personally myself. Maybe it's because I know you personally!
My three sons!
