Plans for the Fourth?

Anybody have anything fun planned for the Fourth?

Unfortunately we have absolutely nothing planned at all. I was hoping to BBQ or have people over, but it looks like it will just be me, DH and the dog. I'm thinking I may leave work early today, hit the grocery store for some fun treats and make our own little BBQ for three to get me out of my grouchy mood today.

No plans the rest of the weekend for us either. I have a long weekend, but DH has to work Friday and Saturday, so we won't be going anywhere this year. Just errands and getting things done around the house.

Re: Plans for the Fourth?

  • Nothing solid yet. We were hoping someone else would host something bc our last few getvtogethers at our place wound up being quite expensive. BIL asked if we wanted them to take the kiddo for a night to repay us for lady weekend so we will likely take them up on that. Maybe brunch on Sunday. I have Friday off as well so I'm planning in finishing work in the garden and cleaning the house.
  • Nada.  DH closes.  I think I'm going over to my parents for dinner...but it's nothing special.  I work on Friday, so I doubt I stay up for the fireworks.

We don't have anything planned yet.  I was hoping for just a lazy day (we work Friday).  But my mom called.. acting all sad because my dad is out of town and she has nothing to do.  So I may see if DH is okay with inviting her over for and we can grill out.

Probably no fireworks.  We could see the fireworks from our house that our town does last weekend, so that was all I needed.

  • I'm driving 10 hours home! Woo!

It's not exactly how I wanted to spend the day. I'm hoping to be back by dinner time so I can at least enjoy some time with H on his day off. Last holiday that had fireworks we were able to watch them from our porch (anyone can shoot them off here) so I'm hoping to do that again.

  • We're going to H's aunt and uncle's house for a BBQ. It's fine, but they invited us over at noon and that means food will not be ready until 2 p.m. Granted, it will be delicious, but it will also be annoying. I've been covering for my boss for two weeks while his wife had triplets, and I've had a lot of extra work (extra from the extra I was at least planning on) and all I want to do is crawl under the covers in the fetal position. Basically I've been leaving the office at 7 and working at home until 11. It's so awful.

  • I'm working tomorrow so we're not doing much. My friend and her H are coming over for dinner after work though. DH works Friday so we won't be doing much else I'm sure.
