Today I was offered a new job as a receptionist. Better pay and benefits. I called back after I got the voicemail and left a message saying I accept. Hopefully she calls back with the details soon (probably Friday). I want to submit my notice to my current job on Friday. They are potentially expecting it but what do I say?
Re: I got a new job!!!
I know. I will have heard from her by the time I start my other job. She made the offer and at first I declined and she countered with a better offer so I called back and accepted.
ETA: while I don't anticipate them changing their minds I know there might be that chance. I just want to be prepared to make a smooth transition.
I would tell them that your last day will be _____, and that you appreciate the opportunities and skills that you gained while there. Then thank them again and leave it at that.
Dear Boss,
Please take this as my notice to resign from my current position as _____. My last day will be _____.
I appreciate the opportunities that I had while at ______, and know that the skills I learned will help me in my new position.
Sincerely,
