Re: AW - 1 down!

  • That's such a good feeling!  Congrats!

One of mine just finished a couple of months ago and the last one is ending in the next month.  But, I really can't wait until October!  A few of our furniture accounts will be paid off and I'm hoping my credit score will jump up :)

Congrats to you too!!!  Hope your credit score jumps!  We're working on getting H's up.

We got a huge tax refund, but we paid off H's debt since it was all high interest.  We paid off 2 credit cards, a personal loan and a court settlement.  Which felt good, but this feels different since it's my debt.

  • Congratulations!! I'm still in school so it's continuing to accumulate. I paid my tuition last week, which made me cry. But H's is debt is almost paid off so next month when it's done we can take that payment and use it towards mine.

  • Woohoo congrats!! and to you, ystaalenberg!! Luckily we don't have loans to pay off...we both had scholarships that covered enough of our tuition that our parents could afford to pay the rest. I'd cry if I had student loans!! I know so many people still paying on them so long after they finish school.

  • Congrats!

All of mine are still in deferment until after I finish my Ph.D. They were all subsidized loans, so it's not like they've been gaining interest while I've been in school forever (thank goodness!). I'd like to pay off my smaller loan in full or at least in 2 big payments when I finish my Ph.D. The larger one will take a little longer.

My student loan debt isn't as high as H's. He's been trying to pay his down for 3 years, and it never seems like we make any progress : (

  • Thanks girls!  I didn't have an extreme amount since I went to a state school, but I've been paying on it for 6 years now... so good to be DONE.  SL#2 should be paid off next May if we stick to our snowball.  I want to pay off our one credit card and my jeep first.  Then we can talk babies!

  • Congratulations on paying off your student loan!  H paid off 1 with our tax refund this year, it's a great feeling.  He has 2 more to go, but 1 will be paid off probably by the end of the year.

I sure hope you had that celebratory drink the other day, this is a definitely a drink worthy occasion!!
