Manic Monday

How was everyone's weekend? Ours was great. We found out that the memorial service we were supposed to attend Saturday is actually next weekend, so we went to the lake with some friends and hung out on their boat and floated around all weekend. Awesome weather and lots of cold beer :)

    My weekend was mostly good.

Saturday we went to a pool party from 12-9:30... DH drank different beer than his normal, and it had a higher alcohol content, so 8 beers plus the couple crown+cokes he had... made him want to throw up in the car on the way home.  Luckily he made it, and went straight into the bathroom and got sick.  In the trash can.  He always throws up in trash cans, I don't get it.

Anyways, he came out and asked me what to do with it.  I told him he had two options, he could clean it out, or buy me a new one.  He bought me a new one, ha.

Sunday, we went out to breakfast and went grocery shopping.  I ran a few errands for the bridal shower this weekend.  I managed to get 6 loads of laundry done between my trips home. While I was out DH called me, he said he was at Wal-mart getting an oil change, he had like a 30 minute wait, and that he almost bought me a really nice present.  I said "At Walmart?"  He said yes, but then he realized I'd probably want to buy one myself...  Confused I asked what it was.  He said "I wants to buy us bikes, because walking is boring & it would be something different".  So once I got home we went out, he bought bikes & we went for a long bike ride.

For dinner, I made homemade pizza dough, and we made grilled pizzas.  We love grilled pizza!  Then I worked on bridal shower stuff.

Overall, it was a pretty busy weekend!

    Anniversary

  • I had a good, but busy weekend.  Thursday we went to a friend's house for a BBQ.  Friday DH had to work a half day, so I did stuff around the apartment, then we went furniture shopping with his parents then out to dinner.  Saturday we ran errands and went out with my family for dinner, then Sunday we just got stuff done around the apartment.  Our closing is moving to a week later, so instead of closing next Monday it'll now be the following week, which is annoying but gives us more time to pack.  Though we're trying to get as much as possible done now so we can maybe have a beach day the weekend before we close and not feel guilty about it.

  • It was soooooo nice to have a 4 day weekend. Thursday and Friday we literally did nothing. Didn't bother with fireworks or any of that, too crowded and too late, we were just enjoying hanging out.

Saturday night, MIL took the kiddo so H and I could go out. We checked out a few new places downtown and then had the most amazing pizza I've had in quite some time.

Sunday morning we got up and went for brunch at another new spot and it was freaking amazing. I had pork hash with two eggs over easy and toast it was to die for, and the best coffee I think I've ever had as well. Afterwards, we went to the Mexican market to get some produce and headed back home for some more laziness. It was quite perfect.

  • Saturday, DH and I needed to run a couple of errands.  At our last stop, we saw a GiGi's Cupcakes food truck.  So, instead of getting cupcakes there, we decided to drive downtown and go to Flying Cupcake.  So, for lunch we had a cupcake from flying cupcake, and then we walked down Mass Ave to SubZero for some ice cream for dessert!  When we were on his way home, his buddy called and asked if he wanted a beer, so off we went.  Then for dinner, we went and had sushi!  Awesome day!

Sunday, I went to a pool party with my sister, and that was about it.
