question for the already moms

Do you have a travel system, a snap and go, or some other form of stroller?  What do you like and dislike about it?

Re: question for the already moms

  • I had a city mini with the Chicco carseat adapter and the keyfit 30 seat.  I love how easily the stroller handles, the quick fold, and the large sun shade. I thought the seat was a little hard to snap in at first, but it got easier with use. The basket is also a little tricky to access, but I think that's true of most strollers. I have no regrets about that system.

We bought the Graco FastAction fold travel system. The infant seat is fine and convenient (L took a nap in his at a restaurant this morning -- it was awesome). The stroller has a one-handed fold similar to the city mini and other strollers of that type, has a good sun shade and a decent-sized basket. The stroller is light compared to some of the other travel system strollers. I really like it in general. I am planning to keep an umbrella stroller in my car when L is old enough for one, but that's because the large stroller is awkward to carry from my car to the house and sometimes I leave it in there and then go to work, leaving DH without a stroller if he wants to go on a walk. But I think any non-umbrella stroller is awkward to carry, personally.

Congrats to both my TTC buddies, Amberley18 and sb2006 on their beautiful babies!
  • I have a fold and go travel system and I absolutely love it!  I have let L sleep in his car seat multiple times while out shopping or at restaurants.  It is also nice to walk around the mall or even the block with the seat attached to the stroller when the baby is younger.

My only complaint is that I wish there was more space for storage in my stroller.  The compartment on the bottom is really, really small and barely fits my purse.  I usually have to carry the diaper bag if we will be out for awhile.

  • we have the city mini with the adapter and the graco snugride and i LOVE it. every time i see other strollers now, or ever since i started using ours, all i notice is how low to the ground other strollers seem, especially snap & go's. i like that the city mini feels nice and sturdy and the handle bar is high (but not really high-i'm 5'1, so it's really just fine for me). i just can't get over how hunched over so many others appear to be. also, the city mini navigates amazingly. if i don't need to grab a lot of items i opt for the stroller rather than putting him in the shopping cart (or when he was too small for the cart-instead of wearing him) because the city mini navigates a billion times better than shopping carts. i can turn bends one handed while i use the other hand to hold a coffee, all without breaking a sweat or looking like i'm struggling to make the turn or make a wide turn. i love it. and while we considered the britax system, we tried them both out and liked the city mini better. also, now that i've seen how the car seat snaps in to the britax stroller i actually prefer how the city mini adapter has the car seat sitting higher up. another GPMer felt it was potentially top heavy but i never felt that way. he always seemed nice and sturdy and away from the ground and safe from people peering in or little kids trying to get at him.

at the end of the day-a four wheel stroller was not in the cards for me.

Thanks to our wonderful RE our family is complete!

This except mine never got easy to snap in place and I felt like it made the stroller top heavy.

Also my DH is tall and has trouble pushing it for a prolonged time without stepping on the back.

  • I hAve the city mini double, love it. The basket is a pain in the asss to get into, I had to change my diaper bag to a backpack.

I really wante a snap n go and had plans to buy one, however my son hates hates hates the carseat. It would have been useless for him.

  • I have a snap & go that I got in excellent condition on Craigslist (we bought the carseat ourselves), an Uppa Baby GLuxe umbrella stroller, and a BOB for running.

I love the snap & go and the Uppa Baby - they are both lightweight and super easy to use (I can get both of them open/closed with one hand.)

I have a city mini and a safety first car seat. I haven't found it to be difficult putting the car seat in the stroller. H and I both like pushing the stroller and there is a foot difference in height.

We have the uppababy vista and used the bassinet for the first 4 months before switching to the seat. We never got a snap n go, but there were times when that would have been useful. I love the vista - so easy to push/steer but it is a bit heavy to lift into the car.

  • We have a BOB which we used with the carseat adaptor and the Uppababy G-luxe which we got a few months ago.  I love both strollers, but love, love, love my BOB.  It was our splurge item but easily one of my favorite baby purchases.
