Baby Bargains...

Can one of you ladies with this book remind me what convertible car seats they rated the highest? I gave my book to another expectant mama and can't remember what they recommended. Thanks!!

My SIL has my book right now but I know Britax seats always get high ratings and we are very very happy with ours.  They are on the pricey side but after buying a less expensive one for our third vehicle we went out and spent the money on another Britax.  Well worth the extras and convenience IMO.

  • Good: Cosco Scenera and Evenflo Titan Elite

Better: Diono Radian RXT and First Years True Fit

    Best: Britax Marathon

Money not an issue: Britax Advocate 70 G3 and Recaro ProRIDE

  • All carseats meet the same safety standards.  You pay extra for different bells and whistles.  Britax seats are nice but are often outgrown sooner than other convertibles because they have a shorter shell.  They also offer less legroom when rear-facing.  We have a Britax Boulevard and really do love it, but my daughter is really small for her age.  If she was average or above we would not have gone with one because I want to rear-face until 3 or 4.  Two seats that are great for rear-facing are the Diono Radian and Chicco Nextfit.  The Graco Myride is also good and less expensive than the previous two.

Yes  I joined the FB group Car Seats for the Littles which is a great place to learn more information about car seats, particularly convertible car seats. They can make recommendations for seats based on your budget, car, and preferences.

  • I love my Diono Radian RXT! I actually prefer it to the britax seats. And it's basically the only thing that would fit in my Jeep Wrangler (2012 model 4 door) without putting the passenger seat clear into the dash.
