Ka-CHOW!

Happy Monday friends!

How was your weekend?

Anything exciting this week?

Not an overly exciting weekend here. We went hiking on Saturday and Sun we went to church then cleaned up around the house.

H's b-day is Friday so I am making his favorite meal on Thurs eve since I have the afternoon off.  And today was a deal on Amazon Local for The Melting Pot so I am taking him there on Fri. Wahoo! I am excited he has never been and I know he will love it.

Re: Ka-CHOW!

  • Morning!

Weekend was good. Yesterday, H and I went to see Back to the Future. It was like 1985 all over again! :)

Saturday, H worked and I dealt with a whiney teething drooling toddler all day. I couldn't wait for him to go to bed haha. We normally go out somewhere on the weekends, but it was supposed to storm all afternoon, so we stayed home. So I think he was feeling a little cooped up. And it didn't storm, so we could have gone out.

Aggie, I'm jealous. I've only been to the melting pot once and we ate for the entire 2 hours we were there. So good. But so expensive! What are you making as his favorite meal?

  • Morning ladies!

Hi Aggie!  Happy early birthday Mr. Aggie!  Enjoy the Melting Pot :)  I've never been but I've heard good things.

Kris - sorry about Chase :(  Hopefully he starts feeling better soon.

We had a pretty lowkey weekend.  Friday night we grilled some burgers on our brand new grill which was fun.  And by "we" I mean DH did and I sat and watched him.  Saturday morning we went to a Kitchen and Bath showroom and planned out some laundry room cabinets.  I'm super excited!

Yesterday, we just grocery shopped.  I also ran a mile to see how my leg was holding up.  It felt okay but I could feel something in the same spot but not nearly as painful.  So we'll see how it feels once I start running longer distances again.

Also, I leave for DC on Friday and I'm super excited.  I think I've decided I'm going to go to the National Museum of Natural History.  I had wanted to go to the Holocaust Museum but I don't think I could handle that by myself.  Much too depressing without having anyone to talk about it with.  I'm looking forward to getting away from the office :)

Morning gals! Nothing to exciting to report. I work on my Grandpa's 80th Birthday scrap book project. I have a few more hours to put in but it is almost done. H worked outside and inside on this and that. I also watched Christmas movies on the Hallmark channel. I love myself sappy Christmas movies. H is away on business again. He will be back Wed. night. Well he is gone I have tons of laundry and more scrapbooking to get done. This weekend we have a HS grad party to go to.

Aggie: I have never been to the Melting Pot but it sounds like fun!

Kris: Hopefully Chase teeth pop through soon. Poor baby!

LVB: Have fun in DC!!! And new cabinets wohoo!!

    Hello, ladies!

We had a nice weekend. I worked because I need this weekend off so I had to switch. Yesterday I ended up going to work very early, 5:30 instead of 8. The night shift girl never showed up so the guy who worked 2nd was still there at like 3am and he called me. Blagh. I was soooo tired all day.
We went to the fair Friday. It was nice, but not as big as I thought. It was mostly just food vendors. We watched the double figure 8 racing, which was cool. We went back last night and paid just to park so we could watch the fireworks. It was a good show.
We're leaving Thursday morning to go to my mom's house for the day. The fireman's carnival is this week. Then Saturday is Jason's family reunion. Should be a pretty nice weekend.

Aggie - Happy early birthday to your H!

Kris - Boo for teething toddlers! That's not fun.

E - Have fun in DC!!! I'm so jealous! Are you going just for fun? Or is it for work?

  • The Melting Pot is SUPER expensive which is why H has never gone, but with this deal its a 4 course meal for 2 for $36. I can't beat that! Talk about great timing.

E- The Natural History museum is great. There is a lot to see there.

I also HIGHLY recommend the American History museum.  It has the flag that was fly in Francis Scott Key wrote our National Anthem, a great collection of first lady inaugural dresses, and it did have the Ruby Red Slippers and Kermit the Frog.   All the Smithsonian museums are free so you can easily pop into one museum for 15 min and then head on to the next one.

  • Gosh, I love the Melting Pot!  We went one year for New Year's Eve.  We had reservations at 11pm and ate through midnight.  The restaurant stopped to watched the ball drop, they took pictures and handed out frames with glasses of champagne.  Now I want to go!

Our weekend was full of wall and ceiling and Home Depot.  Anyone want to hear about it?  No.  I sobbed at one point.  SOBBED.  Home renovations are kinda hard and we bit off a lot with this one.  My husband is an amazing trooper, though.  I ...am not.

Yessss. My first year of college I went on a bus trip to DC to all the Smithsonian museums, the American History one was one of my favorites. Besides the space one, of course. I think I still have a picture somewhere of the Ruby Red Slippers.

  • Ooh thanks for the Museum rec.  If I have time, I may add that to my list :)

jlq - it's for work.  But I get in early on Friday afternoon so I can do some sightseeing Friday and then I work during the day on Saturday.  I seriously love DC, it's such a fun town and I love their metro system.  It's super easy to get around!

Joy - :::hugs::: I'm sorry this project is spiraling out of control.  There's not much more I can say but "this too shall pass" although it definitely is hard to focus on that when you're stuck in the middle of all the crap.

  • Joy Someday you will look back and find this whole home improvement saga more amusing than terrifying.  Someday.   Until then, drink more wine.

Also I went to the used book store and found the 6th Harry Potter book which has been missing from my collection for some time. Between H and I having a set growing up I have no clue how it happened, but the problem has been resolved *whew* I feel a little more complete now.

I also took my sewing machine in to be repaired and the guy, trying to be nice, told me it would be best to just get a new machine. HA! oh he also mentioned they give sewing lessons :P  I think he was judging my sewing skills and my machine.
