So since we are buying a house soon, I have been racking my brain about what colors to paint the family room/kitchen, (its one big room), master bedroom and bathrooms. That being said, what paint colors do you have around your house?
my read shelf:
Re: QOTD 7/15
We rent our townhouse, so everything is the same color...white. It's so boring!!!
I do like light neutrals for main living areas, but not the "builder-grade white" LOL. I think that a soft shade of blue is very relaxing for a bedroom.
We have one painted room. It's our guest bedroom and it's yellow. Our kitchen will be gray w/ dark gray accent walls and red towels/curtains. Our living room will be jade and gray (shares a wall with the dinning room.) Nothing else is decided yet. The exterior of our house is gray and magenta, we need to paint it so bad. I hate that color combo! I don't know what the previous owners were thinking. The exterior of the house will probably be blue, gray and white.
Been there 1 1/2 years. Hopefully we'll have it painted one day! lol!
Will it be...50 shades of grey?! haha sorry, couldn't resist!
Actually, I make that joke all the time! I'm drawn to greys, blacks and whites. Even my clothes are within that palette. H thinks I'm ridiculous for wanting all these different shades of grey, he thinks it's boring.
I like rich colors!
Kitchen - light blue
Dining Room - Medium blue (below chair rail), chocolate brown chair rail, Light blue (above chair rail)
Living Room - Dark Moss green
Master and BR #2 - Gold/ Khaki
BR#3 - Grey
Our living room, kitchen dining room are all together too. On the farthest wall in the living room we have a red accent wall which I love. It has a fireplace, so I have B&W pictures on the mantel. Our dinning room is more of a butterscotch. Kitchen is white with red accents (apple theme, kinda).
Our bedroom has a chair rail (thanks dad!). Top is a tan/sand color and the bottom is a baby blue.
Trying to convince H we need to paint our front room. I'm thinking a seafoam green. I want a beach theme in there. Gray furniture with blue, green accents. Then the half bath a richer green or blue....
Living room is white, but we also have pine paneling in part of the room (real wood, not fake 70s paneling, hahaha). Our bedroom is butter yellow, spare room is beige, kitchen is a light sea foam green. Bathroom is light coral with white beadboard.
Our entry way needs to be painted desperately. It's dark beige, and the previous owners of the house stenciled grapes at the top of the wall. Eww. We are going to paint it a light gray.
We bought a house in March and had a blast choosing colors. We didn't paint the living room or kitchen because we liked the previous owner's choices and the paint was in good condition. Our indoor paint is mostly neutrals and we reused colors throughout for cohesion; outdoor is half brick and a bold sage aluminum siding, which we hope to get re-sided with a neutral vinyl someday. Here's what in our home...
Living room - warm tan
Kitchen - dark brown with white cabinets and chair rails
1/2 bath - pale gray/purple
Dining room - slate gray with white chair rails
Office/dog room - light sage
Man cave - cinnamon red accent wall with light gray
Upstairs hallway and landing - dark brown accent wall with warm tan
Full bath - creamy sand
Guest room - slate gray
Our bedroom - cinnamon red accent wall with creamy sand
Future child's room - unpainted (they had it lavender and a medium purple accent wall)
