Stretch marks: I get that they are hereditary. You'll get them if you're going to get them. But, what did you use to moisturize? Obviously, right now, my belly is fine, but the boobs could use some love.

Yoga: Safe right? I am hoping to go to a class at the gym tonight if I am still feeling up to it :)

Eating: How in the world do you eat healthy when nothing sounds good!? Gah!

stretch marks - I just use lotion. I got them on my stomach, not breasts, at least not yet!

Yoga - I gave it up because I heard you can injure yourself doing it while pg. I stuck with walking. Walking or swimming are usually suggested activities.

Eating - in first tri was lucky to keep anything going in. Plain salted potato chips and red Gatorade were mostly what I ate. I also took my prenatal. I didn't worry about eating healthy, I just worried about eating something.

Already moms - would it be a waste to bring a boppy pillow to the hospital?

i am planning to bring the boppy and the breast friend and leave them in the car. That way if I want them, I can have dh get them but I don't have to worry about storing them in the room if I don't want them.

Re stretch marks, I just used Jergens moisturizer when I remembered.

Yes, yoga is safe. Tell the instructor you're pregnant and you might have some modified poses.

My sister brought a boppy to the hospital for me. I agree that you should keep it in the car, ESP if you are in a different room for L&D and postpartum recovery. You don't want to have to lug a million things to a new room. I don't use a boppy a ton, but it isn't a bad thing to have. My arms were more sore than I anticipated from holding him the first few days.

We didn't bring ours. I found it to be more of a hindrance trying to learn to BF. I used it more for propping L up.

  • imagelb1117:

Stretch marks: I used cocoa butter and milk & honey lotions. Didn't help. haha

Yoga: Tell them you're pg and they'll modify poses if necessary.

Eating: Some (many) days it was a wash. Do your best. 1st tri was the hardest because nothing was appetizing. I ate a lot of carbs.

I used cocoa butter with DS. My belly is covered in stretch marks but they have faded with time.

Yoga is generally safe. I am fairly certain there aren't any poses to modify of avoid until 2nd tri.

Do what you can as far as food goes.

My MW recommended taking fish oil throughout pregnancy to help with the stretch marks.  I also moisturized because my belly felt tight and dry.  I do have some, but they're fading.

Most yoga is safe, but there are some poses you should not do.  You can Google them or talk to your instructor.  EDIT: I think deep twists and inversions are the only real big things to avoid.  You may still be able to get away with them in 1st tri.

Just eat what you can.  You're in survival mode.  It will get better and you can eat healthier later.  Right now, just get calories.

We didn't bring ours, and I didn't need it.  They had pillows to use if I wanted.

  • Sometimes food in first tri just becomes survival. Try to make healthy decisions but honestly just eat whatever you can and keep down. Take your vitamins and they will give baby what it needs.

I used cocoa butter. My stretch marks hurt and itched really bad so I moisturized daily.Remember that it isn't just your boobs and belly to be concerned about. My worst ones are on my hips/love handles but I also have them on my butt, thighs and inner knees. I have also seen people have them under their arms.

My mom brought our boppy to the hospital after she was born. I didn't breastfeed but I was so weak it was nice to have some help holding her when feeding her a bottle. It also worked perfect for when DH's nephew held her since he was only 5.

Obviously, right now, my belly is fine, but the boobs could use some love. -I use Palmer's now only because a friend bought it for me, but before that I was using Aveeno lotion since I had it on hand.

Yoga: Safe right? I am hoping to go to a class at the gym tonight if I am still feeling up to it :)- yep, like others have said, you can modify poses, also you'll just naturally end up modifying the further along you are.

Eating: How in the world do you eat healthy when nothing sounds good!? Gah!- really anything during first tri is good. I ate a lot of apples, and strawberries because those sounded really good to me, I also ate a lot of carbs. I tried to add in greek yogurt, but anything you can eat is fine.

  • if you're going to get stretch marks, you're going to get them regardless of moisturizer. That being said, I used Palmer's and regular cocoa butter lotion just to add moisture and I didn't get any stretch marks until the very end We brought the boppy to the hospital, but didn't use it. It was just easier to use extra pillows

Stretch marks: I used body butter. Either from the body shop, or something specifically for pregnancy. They really helped with the itch.

Yoga: I'm pretty sure that certain moves aren't ok during pregnancy. I had a prenatal yoga dvd and it had a different person to watch for each trimester.

Eating: don't worry about eating healthy in the first tri. Just eat. Once you feel better, then you can worry about eating healthy.

honestly, I wish I had brought my boppy with me. Even with a c-section, I wish I had it. It was the only way we could get enough support to get an ok latch, and the hospital pillows were annoying. I kept trying to layer up three or four pillows in different ways, but it wasn't good enough. I will definitely bring it for the next baby.

i wish I had mine there. But pillows work too, the boppy is just another thing you have to pack up.

I used Aveeno lotion and cocoa butter on my belly.

Eating: As far as eating goes, I ate whatever the heck my body would accept. Luckily for me, that was fruit. I ate so many plums, peaches, apples, strawberries, and mangos.

It was easier to use pillows in the hospital. My hospital had plenty. I had a c-section and that may have been why I didn't want something against my belly though.

Obviously, right now, my belly is fine, but the boobs could use some love. I use Palmer's Cocoa Butter, it smells like chocolate pudding. Lol. But it has kept me stretch mark free so far and my skin is super soft.

I think you are fine but eventually you may need to start using modified poses safe for pregnancy. Maybe ask your instructor tonight?

Eating: How in the world do you eat healthy when nothing sounds good!? Gah! First trimester I was just eating what I could/ when I could. If it wasn't good for me but stayed down that that was a success. I did have success with apples.
