Yay or Ney (did I spell nay wrong) any who....we registered for a white noise machine. It plays different sounds like a heartbeat, waterfall, rain etc....and you can plug in and make your own playlist for them but I believe it's MP3....
Does baby really need this? I'm debating if I want to take it back or not. He'll have a fan on in his room and I think the swing we are getting plays some of those soothing noises.
Also a mobile....do babies really need these?
Re: White Noise Machine
We never used a white noise machine, so to me, no, they are not needed. DS likes classical music but we rarely play it while he is sleeping.
Mobiles are nice and give baby something to look at. DS was happy staring at fans, lol.
I would prefer a mobile over a white noise machine.
5 cats. 1 baby.
I'd keep the noise machine. Lots of babies find the sounds soothing.
We don't have a mobile, so I can't really say yes or no to that. I guess we don't miss it, so, no, I don't think you need one.

It's one of my must have items. Sooths our babies. I actually bought another one for travel and our room.
The mobile I didn't use, but our pack n play has one. Welllllll, they love it! I went and bought them both their own. Eloise will stare at that mobile for quite awhile.
Love them both.
.
For us, yes, we definitely needed it.
Some babies need it to drown out extra noise, and it can be created by the vacuum, hair dryer, AC... For us it was much easier to just use white noise or the sleep sheep. I also have two different apps on my phone that I would use when we were out. If she ended up getting cranky in a store, I would put on white noise and put my phone behind her head rest in the car seat. She would almost immediately calm down and eventually fall asleep.
It helps to drown out the noise that creates extra stimulation for small babies.
I love the white noise. Our house isn't huge and I like that it drowns out extra noise, especially when H or I are getting ready or the dogs are running around. We used the travel sleep sheep early on, but I hate that it isn't continuous sound. Now we use a radio and just keep it to a static station. I sleep with a fan on for white noise which isn't any different.
The mobile was something we used, but for a really short time. I would have been completely fine not having it.
Madeline ~ no biggie I was just having a hard time deciding on what to do! I
I think we are going to keep the white noise machine. It has all kinds of soothing sounds and noises. And if it doesn't work out I can always return it later on. The mobile I think I'm going to skip on. Thanks ladies :-)
