Surprise doctor's appt tomorrow

I started spotting brown late last night and it has gotten consistently heavier (enough that I used a pad). Early this morning I had on and off cramps that have gotten sharper as the day went on.

I have taken Tylenol and have been downing tons of water. I called the doctor cause the pain became really sharp. The spotting is still pretty consistently getting heavier (still brown, no red).

They are having me come in tomorrow for an ultrasound and exam.

I'm sure it's nothing and they are just being overly cautious, but it still makes me worry for our little raspberry.

I'm sorry you're dealing with this. I hope everything looks fine tomorrow, and if things get worse later today or tonight, I'd probably go to the ER. They can do an exam and an ultrasound too and treat your pain with stronger meds if needed.

  • I'm so sorry. That must be scary for you especially since the anxiety was just starting to ease up. I think you did the right thing calling them and I hope that tomorrow's appointment shows that it is nothing and eases your mind! I will be thinking of you mama!

  • Thanks girls.

I'm pretty freaked out right now. Last time I had spotting (before I went for my first prenatal visit), the nurse was like, "See how it is in the morning, then call if it persists." This time when I called, she immediately hung up with me to find a doctor and called me back and was like, "We scheduled you for an 8:15am appointment and ultrasound. Don't be late."

The urgency of it all has me panicked. I'm sure it is fine. I'm sure of it. But, she definitely did not make me feel any better.

Was it a different nurse? There is one like that at my office that makes peeing in a cup seem like a scary thing;) I am so sorry you are going through this. T&P being sent your way.

If it helps at all...I had bright red spotting, needing a pad, around 14 weeks. Turns out my placenta was low. In follow up u/s the placenta moved where it needed to. There are so many reasons, not all bad ones, that cause spotting. Take care of yourself, drink lots of water. Keep us posted when you can!
