  • Yup...from the beginning of 4th grade to the end of 6th grade. It felt like I had them forever!

  • Yes, in sixth grade.  I had them put on right before school started in August and had them until April or May.  I then wore a retainer at night until I graduated high school.
  • Nope.  Neither did DH, hopefully that will mean no orthodontist bill for our future kids.
  • No, but I did have retainers, and at one point the dreaded headgear strap that I mercifully only had to wear at night. Despite this, my teeth STILL aren't straight. I've been thinking about getting braces or Invisalign as an adult, but haven't been able to afford it yet.

  • Yes-- all through high school, and hten an Invisalign type thing for my first two years of college. Like pockysquirrel, they're still not straight but I don't care. They're straight enough.

  • Sure did. From the beginning of 12th grade to the summer before 2nd year of university. My teeth were straight but I have jaw issues that they were trying to solve. It seemed to work. H never had braces and his teeth are pretty straight, so there's hope for the future kidlets.

  • No, but I always wish I had.  I hate my teeth and would love to get braces.  They are just so expensive!  I've been getting quotes and it's like $3k-$5k for braces or Invisalign.  I'm hoping we'll have the money for me to do it next year.

  • Yes from 8th to 10th grade. I first had to have a palette expander in on top so i started out with a huge gap in the middle of my two front teeth until they could put the wire in and bring them back together, not cool! I had to put this key thing in it and push it back and as i did my palette would expand, it felt great (sarcasm).

H also had braces but idk for how long.

  • I had them from 8th grade to 11th. The only reason I had them for so long is because I refused to wear my headgear. I think the orthodonstist finally gave up on me and took them off:

  • I had them from 7th grade to 9th or 10th grade.  DH and I were just talking about this.  He also had them, so we assume our kids will need them at some point.

  • I had them from 8th grade until 11th grade.  DH had them too, but begged to get them off early and his parents let him!  His teeth are a little screwed up now.

  • braces, pallet expander, headgear....had it all.  Started my orthodontist treatment when I was 9, got my braces off when I was 16.  Went to the orthodontist until I was 19!  ten years total.

  • Never and very proud of it! I have exceptionally straight teeth, but I was one of those kids who wanted braces for a while. I'm glad as adult that I didn't have to deal with it. I have dentists be shocked a lot of the times that I haven't had them. My mom has the straight without braces teeth as well, so hopefully our kids will get them! DH had them, but I'm not sure for how long. He didn't wear his retainer, so some of his bottom teeth have gone back a little wonky, but not too bad.

  • I got braces when I was 20 and had them for 2 years.  During that time I had to have 4 teeth pulled to fit all of my teeth properly and jaw reconstruction surgery.
