Re: Book Club Monday
Last week I read Me Before You by Jojo Moyes. It was really good. If you haven't read it, you should! I very rarely rate anything 5 stars on GR, but I did this one!
I'm currently reading Pandemonium (Delerium #2) by Lauren Oliver and listening to Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver. I've been on a bit of a YA kick lately.
We are going to the Outer Banks in a few weeks and I'm looking for a book that H and I can listen to in the car. Any suggestions?
I finally gave up on the Junot Diaz I was reading. I instead read David Sedaris' newer book, Let's Explore Diabetes with Owls. It was really good, if not laugh-out-loud funny the away Naked or Me Talk Pretty One Day are.
Now I'm reading Lauren Graham (yes, from Parenthood and Gilmore Girls)'s YA book, Someday, Someday, Maybe. It's pretty good, very readable and fun.
It's older now so you may have already read or heard it, but if you like her, I recommend Tina Fey's book, Bossypants. DH and I listened to it on a long car trip and it made the trip fly by. It's very funny (she reads it herself and is great).
I kind of gave up on the Night Circus. I didn't even get half way through it. I think that I will go back to it again, but I got it from the library and there are no copies left right now.
I think that I am going to start The Fault in Our Stars. I am hoping its as good as everyone says it is.
I am also still listening to Clash of Kings.
I'm halfway through A Dance with Dragons - GRRM (Game of Thrones #5). halfway is 500 pages, so I'm feeling good.
I finished listening Bloodfever - Karen Moning (fever#2). Way better than the first one.
I started A dance upon the Air - Nora Roberts this morning. No feelings yet. I thought it was a romance, but it seems to be one of her "paranormal" trilogies. Oh well... I need to read summaries more.
I second this suggestion! It was HILARIOUS as a audiobook, I can't imagine reading it instead of listening to it!
CAthy - Ohhhh I LOVED the fault in our stars! Just have the tissues ready. I ugly cried my way through that book!
Ok, so I just requested Bossypants at the library, should be in in plenty of time to pick up for the trip! Thanks ladies!!
I added Me Before You to my "To-Read" list, Willy! I always love good suggestions.
I am currently reading Passion (Fallen #3) by Lauren Kate and it's decent. I'm not too far into it yet. I read Torment (Fallen #2) earlier in the week. I like the series well enough, but I'm not just dying to read the next one. They're decently quick reads for me, so I'm going to finish the series and see how it ends up!
I also read Hana and Raven by Lauren Oliver. They're little teensy novellas, so I really don't think I should be able to count them as whole books, but hey...I will anyways. lol. I liked Raven's story much better than Hana's. I still have the Annabel novella left! I'll probably read it after I finish Passion.
