So Frustrated!!

So we are closing on the house tomorrow.  Yay!!  I am trying to find out if we can get Verizon Fios at the new place because we have it now and love it.  Well for some reason we can't get it at the new house even though they did all of the construction for it.  When I asked the rep about the cancellation fee being waived she said that it is not possible since I will be cancelling my service!!!  So I have to pay a cancellation fee because they can't honor thier contract.  To top it off, when I ordered the service, I asked "What happens if we move and Fios isn't available?"  The answer was that there would be no fee!!! 

I mean it is cheapr to cancel it than to keep it but what if we did keep it?  Would the next person that rents our apartment not be able to get it?

GRRRR!!  I am so mad right now.

If you got through this you deserve a drink or a cookie or both....  Thanks for letting me vent.  :)

  • Good luck tomorrow!!  I'm super excited for you both!  Do you need me to post the QOTD tomorrow for you, since you'll be busy?

    I think right before we closed on our house I fought with half of our service providers.  I had a 3 day long arguement with T-mobile about our phone coverage. 

  • Thanks! I think that I will be good for tomorrow and Wednesday but I am off all day Thursday and Friday. If you could do those two days, that would be great. We don't close until 3:30 tomorrow so we are only taking a half a day.

    I would keep pushing your Fios concerns higher until you can get someone who will waive the fee for you.

    This.  Or push to get the service since the connections are there... what's the reason you can't get it?

  • Good luck on your closing!!!  Verizon is so annoying to deal with.  I hope you can get the fee waived.  Keep calling and being a pest, eventually you will get a higher up who will be able to do more than the standard customer service rep.

    I am currently waiting for a call back from a manager which they say will take 24-48 hours. 

    They say that it is just not available yet at our house.  The subdivisions to the north and south both have it.  On top of that, DH and I were talking to the previous owners and they said that Verizon came through and tore up the streets to put new equipment in a few months ago.  There is even one of those Verizon boxes at the end of the driveway. 

    I really loved the Fios at our apartment but this is putting such a bad taste in my mouth...
