Cross your fingers & toes it will be closing time...

Am in the process of buying a condo.  It's been an experience to say the least.  The first two places I looked at and was bidding on turned out to be listed incorrectly and my loan type didn't qualify for those places.

Well, finally found a place, bid and it was accepted.  We set a closing date of July 23rd.  The other party didn't think they could get their stuff done in time, but they did, so came back 13 days early to ask if I would like to close early.

So it was predicted I would close that Friday, if not Monday.  Friday came and went.  Monday came and went.  Then they thought I would close last Wednesday.  That came and went too...

FOR SURE it was supposed to happen last Friday.  Um.  No.

Then today...  Ugh!  Again no!

My lender didn't get their paperwork to the title company in time.  They are now facing 3 days worth of penalies ($100/day) because of this.  (Which thankfully is not passed on to me.)

So... cross your fingers, cross your toes... maybe even wiggle your nose??  Oh, I dunno... LOL

I'm gonna cry if it doesn't happen tomorrow!!!

But if it does, the paperwork will be over-nighted to the title company which is out of state.  They will work on it Wednesday and hopefully be all done by Thursday... so MAYBE I will have keys by Friday.

  • Yikes!! DH and I went through something similar when we bought our house. Closing was moved back four times- and then on closing day the sellers told us they wouldn't be ready to move out of the house for another three days!!! ERRR!

Thankfully it's empty.  I  bought a forclosure and got a smoking deal on it.  ($30K under comps in the area).  I don't have to be out of my current place until Dec 31s (whole 'nother story there)..  But I really would like to just get everything moved over and done with.  Turn off the stuff in my current place and only have one set of bills to deal with... Heh.

So... it's not like I HAVE to be in now.. or I have to be in a rush... Just I want it done!!!  I don't want to have to think about this anymore.  I want in my new place so I can start making repairs and painting!  LOL

Yea... OK, I'm a spoiled brat...  I live it and love it.  =)
