I just wanted to share my experience with the ViSalus Vi-Shake protein mix. My friend gave me a bag of shake mix a while back, but at the time I wasn't really interested in doing protein shakes so it just sat in my pantry for a few months. Well, a few weeks ago, I was talking to her about getting back in shape and really trying to loose this extra weight. She was telling me that her husband started drinking the shakes and he'd lost around 15lbs in a few weeks. She said she had started doing them again too and had lost 4lbs that week.
So, what the heck... I'll give it a shot. Well, it's been a week into having shakes for breakfast and lunch with healthy snacks in between and a healthy dinner and I've lost 3lbs! I was so excited when I weighed myself this morning! I couldn't believe it.
Using this mix has helped me with my calorie intake and keeping to my daily goal. I started working out again in May and had to stop due to medical and dental issues in June. I ate well and worked out 4-5 times a week, but I only lost half a lb in a whole month. I haven't even started working out again and I've lost 3lbs in one week! I can't wait to see what happens when I can finally get back in the gym.
Anyway, if you made it through this, thanks! I just wanted to share my experience because it's really been an exciting start on my weight loss journey. I don't have much to loose, but it's very difficult for me to loose any weight because of some medical issues. I'm glad that I found something that will give me good results to keep me motivated.
Here's the link to their website. They have a lot of other products, and actually just released a cereal. I'm anxious to try the other products!
Re: ViSalus Shakes Review
That's great that it is working so well!
But please be careful. A woman in my office did the 2x a day shake thing with a healthy dinner and ended up passing out in the gym twice and in the hospital. She actually wasn't allowed to work out for months afterward because her doctor refused to give her a note saying she could go back to the gym because of how bad her bloodwork came back. I'm not trying to scare you off, but losing more then 2lbs a week can be VERY dangerous for your overall health.
Good luck!
Thanks for sharing that story. I think the weight that I've lost is mostly because I'm eating a lot less sodium and carbs. The shakes that I am making are very filling. They aren't just protein powder and water. I include a lot of fruit and almond milk with every one I drink. I'm using MFP to track my calories as well as things like sodium and sugar. Also, I am eating snacks like almonds, string cheese, boiled egg whites, yogurt and other fruits and veggies. I talked all this over with my doctors and they all said it's healthy and good for me.
I agree that eating so little to try to loose more is bad for you and I won't do that. I'm sure my weight loss will slow down in the next week or so.
