Almost there.....

Docs were signed last night.  Money was wired this morning...  Now just waiting for everything to be recorded...!!!!  Keys as late as Wendesday of next week.

Unfortunately, no one can find the mail key, so I might have to get it re-keyed.  =(

Re: Almost there.....

  • That is so exciting!!! I am just curious why they did not give you the keys after you signed the paperwork. We were able to get the keys to our place right after we signed our paperwork. We even wired the money the next morning.

  • I'm not usually one to tell others to be litigious, but you should seriously have some type of legal recourse for what you've been through.  And YES to what the PP said - you should have the keys in hand unless they are basically paying your rent right now.  That is just plain not right.  What has your real estate lawyer had to say about all this?

That aside, I'm glad that it's finally working out for you!

this is the closing that will never end... it goes on and on my friend....

    omg.  i swear!

lender came back and changed their mind and wanted 2 years income listed on my employment verification form instead of the 1 they requested.  so, went to boss and had that done and re-faxed.

lender came back again and said they wanted a bank statement that had previously submitted during the bid...  they had previously said since none of the funds were coming from that account they didn't need it.  but!  of course changed their minds.

one of the two real estate agents didn't submit her commission paperwork...  so waiting on that.

something changed on the hud paper, so the title company is waiting on that.

soooooo they THINK i will be officially closed on monday.

i don't know if it is because my title comany is out of state in california (chosen by the bank who owns the home - foreclosure) or what the deal is, but in this case everything has to be completely recorded before my real estate agent is allowed to give me keys.

asked the hoa if they had a copy of the mail key and they didn't, so unfortunately that hope is dashed... am contemplating going through the paperwork to see if there is something mentioned about the keys, but i seriously don't know where to look... at this point i have so much paperwork and re-writes of my contract i'm literally swimming in paperwork.  almost makes me want to cry.

might be worth just paying the $50 to have it re-keyed.

  • We bought a foreclosed home also. It was listed on an online platform. We used a title company that was out of Dallas which is like 3 hours from us. As soon as you sign that paperwork, the house is yours. They cannot keep the keys from you. Also, I would definitely recommend getting new keys for the entire house especially with a foreclosed home. You have no idea who has the keys and who has access to the house. We had a keyless entry on the house and the first thing we did that night was to change out the looks. One never knows who had the code to the house since it was available through the online platform. Because closing was delayed about a week, we waived the 24 hour review of the HUD agreement

We did have some problems but nothing like you. We originally was pre-approved through a local credit union. However, when we went in with the contract they decided to drop us because they did not like the idea of a mobile closing. However, we were able to find someone that was able to get the loan ready in 30 days.

Hang in there. It will  be worth it all when you have finally close.

well i finally got my key today...  and i'm not going to argue when they gave it to me for the simple reason of i just found out my water heater leaked all weekend and caused damage to my floor and my downstairs neighbor's ceiling. because it wa in bank posession until today they bank has to cover all damages.
