Cinema in the Park?

Has anyone been to a movie in the Citiparks recently? We haven?t been since before Heather was born and we?re planning to go to Arsenal Park tonight for Finding Nemo. Sunset is at 8:40 and the movie is supposed to start at ?dusk?. Do you think 8pm is a good time to arrive?

I?m going to bring some things for the kids to do, assuming that we get there before the movie starts, but I also don?t know that an hour or more of wait time will go over well. Especially at bedtime.

Just wondering if anyone had been recently and could give me an idea of when the movie started.

Thanks!

We haven't been to one since before Jackson.  In college we used to go to ache key for them all the time.  I remember them starting around 9.

I really want to do one sometime this summer.  Let me know how it is.  We're home next weekend & I was thinking IOC trying it since our drive in experience was pretty pleasant.

  • This is a different place, but same scenario.  We went to the drive in and the movie didn't start until almost 9pm.  We got some snacks, and the kids around us all had some balls and other things to play with and my kids joined.  (I hadn't been to a drive in in so long, I didn't think of it).   If you take some things to entertain them (ball, bubbles, other outside toys), I think they'll have fun during the wait and not even realize that it's been an hour to wait.
  • Lisa - The movie started around 8:40.

The area at arsenal is a lot smaller than Schenley and there were quite a few smokers. :-( Overall it was fine and we didn't have any problems, but it was a bit to cramped for comfort. If we go again we might try Grandview, which does movies on Saturday nights. I'd love to go in HP...but those are on Monday night. An 11pm bedtime and 6:30am wake-up to go to camp would be a disaster....!
