Can someone please explain to me...

why the world ends with H gets sick but when I get sick, the world needs me more than usual? I've been sick all weekend and have gotten zero downtime. I actually took a half day at work today so that I could come home and sleep all afternoon before I picked the baby up from daycare. Well now H is sick and he's walking around grunting and frowning because he says he can't talk because his throat hurts so bad and his lips are so chapped that they hurt to open them. Get some Chapstick and some cough medicine and get on with your day! Jeeze.

  • Because men are giant babies and the common cold equals the flu to them.

What PhilaPhan said. And, my bff is a nicu nurse at CHOP. They call it 'white boy syndrome.' She swears that a girl and a boy will have the exact same illness, and 'the little white boy always takes longer to get better!'

Also, my very wise grandmother often points out that if men had to be pregnant and give birth we would be extinct.

    100% agree with this one!

DH doesnt get sick often, but when he does all i hear about is how bad he feels. I cant really complain because he baby's me when I am sick, so I kind of have to reciprocate and be nice.

  • Oh the man cold... makes me want to stab Jeff.  He doesn't get sick often but when he does... oh man.  He won't take medicine... he'd rather complain for weeks.

  • This is going to sound bizarre, but sometimes I wish H would complain.  When he's not feeling well, he doesn't tell me!  So he'll just sit there, looking all miserable and I'll ask, "What's wrong?"  And he'll say, "Nothing."  And then, because I'm a paranoid crazy person, I start thinking I did something to make him angry.  So I'll keep bothering him about it and he'll eventually tell me he has a headache or his throat hurts or whatever.  To which I'll say something like, "Then why didn't you tell me that the first time I asked?!?!"  And he'll say, "Because you can't do anything about it."

Swear to god, we've had this conversation multiple times.  You'd think one of us would learn...
